Apple's iPad by recent dates according to the analytical company IDC, tablets continue to dominate. But overall, the market is not doing so well, and the share of the iPad has also fallen a bit. In the second calendar quarter of this year, Apple sold 10,9 million iPads, which is a fairly significant decrease compared to 13,3 million units sold in the same quarter in 2014. The iPad's market share fell by almost three percent year-on-year, from 27,7% to 24,5%.

Samsung, number two in the market, also saw lower sales and a slight drop in share. The Korean corporation sold 7,6 million tablets in the second quarter of this year, which is one million fewer than in the same period a year earlier. The company's market share fell from 18 to 17 percent.

On the contrary, the companies Lenovo, Huawei and LG fared better than a year ago. For the sake of completeness, it should be noted that IDC includes 2-in-1 hybrid computers in addition to classic tablets. In any case, Lenovo sold 100 more tablets than in 2014, and its share rose from 4,9% to 5,7%.

Both Huawei and LG, which share the 4th place in tablet sales, have both sold 1,6 million tablets this year, and their growth is admirable. Huawei improved its sales year-on-year by more than 800 units, and the growth of the company in this sector can therefore be calculated at 103,6 percent. That's a truly remarkable number in a market that has fallen 7 percent. LG, which sold only 500 tablets a year ago, also shined in a similar way, and its growth is therefore even more impressive at first glance, amounting to 246,4%. As a result, the company's market share grew to 3,6%.

Other brands are hidden under the collective designation "Other". However, they also sold a total of 2 million less devices than they managed a year ago. Their market share then fell by 2 percent to 20,4 percent.
