The popular strategy Civilization VI, which received its iOS port at the end of 2017, is now being remembered in connection with the release of the first larger data disc called Rise and Fall. In addition, the developers revealed that they are preparing a second "Gathering Storm" data disc for the end of this year.

Civilization VI is the sixth installment of the legendary strategy series, which is the studio behind Firaxis. The game was released on PC, macOS and Linux back in 2016, and owners of iOS devices got it a year later. It is a full-fledged complex strategy that can occupy tens of hours.

The Rise and Fall data disc adds new faction leaders to the original game, as well as new maps, buildings, completely new units, and also modifies the basic gameplay principles of the original version to some extent. This extension appeared on major platforms last year, so the iOS port took about a year again.

Those interested in the new expansion can purchase it as an in-app purchase directly in the Civilization VI for iOS for a one-time fee of 779 crowns. However, due to the amount of new content, it will probably be worth it for fans of the series.

The original game is free to download, with the first 60 game moves acting as a kind of trial. After they expire, the user can buy the game. Currently, the basic game costs 249 crowns, and given the huge amount of content and gameplay, it is definitely worth the money - that is, provided that you are a fan of turn-based strategies. However, it's also worth noting that none of the purchases associated with Civilization VI support family sharing, as is common with similar games.
