The introduction of the new operating systems iOS 9 and OS X 10.11 is approaching. Apparently, we can look forward to updates after a long time, which will focus much more on improving the overall system performance than on new functions, even if the developers at Apple are not completely envious of the news.

Citing his sources inside the development studios brought the latest information on Apple's new operating systems Mark Gurman from 9to5Mac. According to him, both iOS and OS X were mostly focused on quality. Engineers are said to have pushed for iOS 9 and OS X 10.11 to be treated like Snow Leopard, which last time mainly brought under-the-hood modifications, bug fixes and greater system stability instead of big changes.

The new systems will not be completely without news, but the executive managers finally proceeded to limit them in order to avoid the release of systems with errors like iOS 8 and OS X 10.10 Yosemite a year ago.

Next to the San Francisco font, which is to come from Watch to both OS X and iOS, the Control Center known from iPhones and iPads could also appear on Macs, but it is not yet clear whether Apple will have time to prepare it. If so, it should be hidden on the left side, opposite the Notification Center.

In iOS 9 and OS X 10.11, Apple is also expected to focus on security. The new "Rootles" security system is designed to prevent malware, increase the security of extensions and keep sensitive data safe. This news should cause a big blow to the jailbreak community. Apple also wants to significantly strengthen the security of iCloud Drive.

But even more interesting for many users will probably be the fact that, according to Gurman's sources, Apple also wants to focus on older devices. Instead of creating iOS 9 and then removing some features so as not to burden the slower processors of older iPhones and iPads, Apple engineers created a basic version of iOS 9 that will run well even on iOS devices with A5 chips.

This new approach should keep more generations of iPhones and iPads compatible with iOS 9 than expected. After the experience with iOS 7, which ran really badly on older products, this is a very nice step from Apple towards owners of older models.
