At the end of June, we informed you through an article about a rather special one error in iOS, which may have completely disabled Wi-Fi and AirDrop. The error was first pointed out by security expert Carl Schou, who also showed how it actually works. The stumbling block was the name of the Wi-Fi network. In any case, this week Apple released new versions of its operating systems with the designation iOS/iPadOS 14.7, macOS 11.5, watchOS 7.6 and tvOS 14.7. And the error finally disappeared.

Apple subsequently confirmed in the official documentation that with the arrival of iOS 14.7 and iPadOS 14.7 a bug related to the Wi-Fi network was fixed, which could damage the device by connecting to a dubious network. Specifically, the problem was its name, which the device could not work with properly, resulting in the Wi-Fi being disabled. Already during the beta testing itself, the developers realized that this error had probably been fixed, since it no longer appeared. But of course it doesn't end there. The new systems also fix security flaws associated with audio files, the Find app, PDF files, web images, and more. For this reason, you should definitely not delay the update and rather do it as soon as possible.

Of course, nothing is perfect, which of course also applies to Apple. This is precisely why it is always necessary to update the device regularly. This simple step will ensure that your device is as secure as possible. At the same time, the arrival of the new operating systems iOS/iPadOS 15, watchOS 8 and macOS Monterey is slowly approaching. They will be released to the public already during the approaching autumn. Which system are you most looking forward to?
