Last week at the "Gather Round" conference, where presented iPhone XS, XS Max, XR and with them also the Apple Watch Series 4, Phil Schiller also announced the official release date of the new operating system for iPhones, iPads and iPod touch. This is already set for tomorrow, i.e. Monday, September 17. Therefore, let's take a look at the complete list of news that iOS 12 will bring.
The new system will be available starting tomorrow for all users with a compatible device. Supported include all iPhones from the iPhone 5s, all iPads from the iPad mini 2 and finally the sixth generation iPod touch. The new iOS 12 thus offers exactly the same compatibility as last year's iOS 11.

When exactly will the update be released?
As usual, Apple will make the new update available around 19:00 our time. However, due to the fact that watchOS 12 and tvOS 5 will be released along with iOS 12, it can be expected that Apple's servers will be busy after the release of all three systems. In a relatively short period of time, perhaps hundreds of thousands of users will start updating, so it is very likely that the download of the update file will be lengthy. For these reasons, it is better to wait for the update until the next morning.

At first glance, iOS 12 does not bring any significant news, but even so, users will certainly welcome some functions and improvements. Among the most essential are performance optimizations for older devices, thanks to which the system offers a significantly faster response. For example, launching the Camera application should be up to 70% faster, then calling up the keyboard should be up to 50% faster.

- Memoji, the new more customizable animoji, will add expression to your messages with diverse and fun characters
- Animoji now include Tyrannosaurus, Ghost, Koala, and Tiger
- You can make your memojis and animojis blink and stick out their tongues
- New camera effects let you add animoji, filters, text effects, iMessage stickers, and shapes to photos and videos you take in Messages
- Animoji recordings can now be up to 30 seconds long

- Screen Time provides detailed information and tools to help you and your family find the right balance for your app and web time
- You can see time spent with apps, usage by app category, number of notifications received, and number of device grabs
- App limits help you set the time you or your kids can spend on apps and websites
- With Screen Time for Kids, parents can control their kids' iPhone and iPad usage from their own iOS device
Do not disturb
- You can now turn off Do Not Disturb based on time, location or calendar event
- The Do Not Disturb In Bed feature suppresses all notifications on the lock screen while you sleep
Notification
- Notifications are grouped by apps and you can manage them more easily
- Quick customization gives you control over notification settings right on the lock screen
- The new Deliver Silently option sends notifications directly to the Notification Center so it doesn't disturb you

- Shortcuts for Siri allows all apps to work with Siri to make tasks faster
- In supported apps, you add a shortcut by tapping Add to Siri, in Settings you can add it in the Siri and search section
- Siri will suggest new shortcuts for you on the lock screen and in search
- Ask for motorsport news - results, fixtures, stats and standings for Formula 1, Nascar, Indy 500 and MotoGP
- Find photos by time, place, people, topics or recent trips and get relevant results and memories in Photos
- Get phrases translated into multiple languages, now with support for over 40 language pairs
- Find out information about celebrities, such as date of birth, and ask about calorie and nutritional values of foods
- Turn the flashlight on or off
- More natural and expressive voices are now available for Irish English, South African English, Danish, Norwegian, Cantonese and Mandarin (Taiwan)
Augmented reality
- Shared experiences in ARKit 2 allow developers to create innovative AR apps that you can enjoy together with friends
- The Persistence feature allows developers to save an environment and reload it in the state you left it in
- Object detection and image tracking provide developers with new tools for recognizing real-world objects and tracking images as they move through space
- AR Quick View brings augmented reality across iOS, letting you view AR objects in apps like News, Safari, and Files, and share them with friends via iMessage and Mail
Measurement
- A new augmented reality application for measuring objects and spaces
- Draw lines on surfaces or spaces you want to measure and tap the line label to display information
- Rectangular objects are measured automatically
- You can take screenshots of your measurements to share and annotate
Security and privacy
- Advanced Intelligent Tracking Prevention in Safari prevents embedded content and social media buttons from tracking your web browsing without your consent
- Prevention prevents ad targeting - limits ad providers' ability to uniquely identify your iOS device
- When creating and changing passwords, you'll get automatic suggestions for strong and unique passwords in most apps and in Safari
- Repeated passwords are marked in Settings > Passwords and accounts
- Security code auto-fill – One-time security codes sent via SMS will appear as suggestions in the QuickType panel
- Sharing passwords with contacts is easier than ever thanks to AirDrop in the Passwords & Accounts section of Settings

What is the hearing aid function, or real listen or whatever it's called. The iPhone should send amplified sound to the Airpods. At least it was talked about. And will there be a new update for Airpods?

SO I WOULD BE CAREFUL! LETTING 11KU PAY.
Classic, it's supposed to speed everything up, but I won't fix the same mistake 2x, so 3x :D and I'll definitely stay with the current Os, the new ios always slowed down the phone. If I put the 5S on ios12, I'll do it :D.
But I understand, somehow they have to force other users to buy a new iPhone.
