iOS 11 is already on every fourth device out of four. It follows from the latest statistics Apple, which the company published on April 22 on its official website. Compared to competing Android, this is a truly commendable result. Currently, the latest Android 8 Oreo holds only a 4,6% share compared to older versions.
From a simple graph, we learn that iOS 11 is on 76% of devices. In the last three months, i.e. since the last update of the statistics on April 18, iOS 11 has been installed by another 11% of users. 19% of all active devices still remain on the previous version of the system. The remaining 5% belong to older versions of the system, such as iOS 9. On most of these iPhones and iPads, it is no longer possible to install the newer system, but users are still actively using them.
Although it may seem that iOS 11 is doing great, compared to iOS 10, its results are not so bright. According to Apple's official statistics, iOS 10 was installed on almost 80% of active devices already in February last year.
However, compared to competing Android, the results are more than impressive. Numbers those published by Google are not so exemplary, as only 8% of devices currently boast the latest Android 4,6 Oreo. However, it is necessary to take into account that updating Android phones is significantly more complicated than in the case of Apple ones. The phone manufacturers themselves are responsible for the slow spread of the new system. Therefore, Google has made it much easier to implement individual add-ons so that the most current version of Android can be expanded as quickly as possible. But the result has not yet arrived, mainly because the function is supported by only a handful of phones, including the new Galaxy S9, for example.
You are comparing apples (Apple) and pears (Android).
So, compare how many devices Android can run on and how many iOS devices. ;-)
(I'm referring to the unified HW platform that Apple's iOS has on its HW, while Android is on somewhere else)
Exactly. Regardless, Apple encourages users by constantly forcing updates and security. I didn't love Jobs, even by mistake, but what Apple is showing for Cook is pretentiousness.
Good test... You have 30 CZK useless.
iPhone X versus MyPhone
1 iPhone X (1 metrosexual) = 23,3 MyPhones (which is the average number of students in a class)
:-)
I don't really care what Android has, but even iOS is a bit of a mess. You have already started it in the article. Previous versions of iOS fared much better. I remember my friends and I were dealing with it sometime around iOS7, which was on more than 90% of devices in a week. If things continue like this, around iOS30 it will be only 4% in half a year. I'm exaggerating, I know it won't be, but it's still a trend in the wrong direction.
