It was only a matter of time before iFixit technicians got their hands on a new iPad. As it seems, this happened already last week, because the company published an article on its website this afternoon about what disassembling the new iPad entails and whether it is even possible to repair the novelty in any reasonable way. If you are familiar with iFixit's methodology, the new iPad received a rating of 2 out of 10. Its disassembly and subsequent repairs are therefore extremely difficult to impossible.

The complete analysis is traditionally captured on video, which you can view below. It shows how little has changed compared to the previous version, and that applies both in a good and a bad sense of the word. As with last year's iPad, the display is not laminated. This means that the cover layer of the display is not stuck to it. This solution has the advantage that if the display cover is cracked it is not that difficult (and expensive) to replace. On the contrary, the disadvantage lies in the fact that there is a gap between the display as such and the protective glass.

As with other iPads, a huge amount of glue and other adhesives are used in the construction of the new one. The classic way is the glued protective glass mentioned above. Likewise, the display is glued to the chassis of the device. Apple also used the glue in the case of attaching the motherboard, on which the new 10 Fusion processor is located, and the battery system (whose capacity has not changed since the last time). Other small things inside the new iPad are also attached with glue.

Thanks to this, repairing a new tablet from Apple is quite difficult, sometimes even impossible, because the original sealing is very difficult to restore. This is also the biggest disadvantage and that is the reason why the new iPad received only 2 points out of 10. On the contrary, the non-laminated display will "please" everyone who damages theirs in some way. The service repair in this case should be significantly cheaper than for a device where the protective glass is laminated with the display panel
