While browsing the current game and app discounts, I came across a game with an interesting concept and gameplay. I was a little skeptical at first, thinking it would be Angry Birds style mixed with Fruit Ninja, but Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage pleasantly surprised me, even if I wasn't far from the truth with those mixed games.

Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage has appropriated some feature or gadget from each game, which ultimately makes the mentioned game something new and quite original. Your main task in each mission is to save or free the vikings from the ice or some obstacles, abysses, etc. You use a single finger to chop, which is a well-known element from the already mentioned popular game Fruit Ninja. But beware, it won't be as simple as it might seem at first glance.

The game offers more than 90 missions divided into four worlds. I managed the first part of the game with the left back, that is, without the slightest problem. It will also be caused by the fact that the first levels are of an introductory nature, when the game shows you all the options and strategies. Subsequently, I already sweated quite a bit and at times I had a good airing of the brain coils and above all the basics of physics and logic. Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage contains logic elements, where you have to think hard during each mission to guide your scythe through the ice cube so that your freed viking falls on the ship's deck. If it falls into the sea or onto the ground, you are out of luck and can start over.

As already said, the first missions are completely trouble-free, but after that they will become increasingly difficult. Various enemies that your viking must not fall to, or sheep that you must get to the next ship to another ferryman, will gradually come to your turn. The game usually looks like one or more vikings are scattered or frozen in an ice cube and it depends only on you and your minion how to get them down to you. Various swing traps, sticky substances, slides and many other properties will help you with all of this, but at the same time make the journey more unpleasant.

As a result, the game offers an interesting concept and gameplay, which it borrowed in various ways from already existing titles. In each mission, you have the option to use two fingers to slide across the map and explore the terrain, or double-tap the display to enlarge the image. You will certainly appreciate this function in the case of a detailed exploration of the ice floe and thinking about the direction of the cut. At the same time, you have a given maximum number of cuts in each mission, which are quite well set and it is difficult for you to exhaust them at the beginning. At the same time, you can collect coins to unlock bonus rounds and special events.

In each mission you will also find a short introductory video clip or funny scenes supplemented with various comments. In terms of graphics, Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage occupies a lower position and the graphics are more reminiscent of retro games. In-app purchases abound in the game, and you can purchase all sorts of improvements and upgrades for different amounts. You can currently download Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage for free on sale.
