Regarding the case of Maps in iOS 6 Ewan Spence for Forbes writes:
And I would like to emphasize one thing. The idea that Steve Jobs would never release Maps in iOS 6 in its current form appears in a large part of the reports. It is a mistake. Steve Jobs would not only publish Maps, he would even insist on it.
And I totally agree with Spence. There is no need to particularly idealize Steve Jobs after his death and make him a flawless innovator. Even Jobs himself made several mistakes in his life, whether it was MobileMe or the problem with the antennas in the iPhone 4, for which, like Tim Cook now, he apologized. Opinions that Apple is going downhill after the departure of Steve Jobs are therefore completely misguided. Just look at the sales numbers.
Thumbs up! ;)
I agree. I already have those words about how it's not the same without Steve and how things are going with Apple, I'm getting tired.
Above all, no one can know what would have happened or not, but everyone is suddenly a terrible expert on Steve :)
Exactly! I don't know why it's such a big deal. It looks like everyone who writes similarly stupid comments can't walk ten steps without a map. I personally have been using an iPhone for about two years and before that an Android HTC for about two years, and during that time I have looked at the maps probably a total of five times.
The problem with the antennas on the iP4 only became apparent when it got to people, and even then a couple of people got a kick out of it, but they still had to know about the maps before stating that they were "imperfect" :)
I personally don't have a problem with the new maps, but that doesn't change the fact that the app is a very hot needle and I don't think that the app, which should be one of the most anticipated in the new version of iOS, would have been released if it was in such a state as it is
the numbers are fine, nothing about it, but they can change very quickly after a few such slips
nokia could probably talk :)
that's right, it's not an idealized Steve, but it seems to me that everyone in Apple has been hypnotized lately... unfinished business, no new idea...
by the way, the author of the article contradicts himself a bit, considering that he has been using headphones for 3 years :))))))
numbers aren't everything. Eidamu 30% is also sold more than parmesan and the quality is somewhere else...
but also at a price :)
At least those maps load 100x faster, even with a reduced speed after exceeding the data limit.
There was no reason to postpone the map, mistakes are best picked up by millions of testers. They could have marked them as beta. From the point of view of business, there was no better term, apple fans will try it, the new iPhone is close and when the 5s comes out, the maps will also be different
I was a little afraid that it would be a flop. Compared to Google Maps (for iOS), they have fewer POIs, worse satellite images, but I tried the voice navigation in the car and where Navigon ferociously returned me to the main roads, I drove absolutely perfectly with this navigation. It doesn't have any settings, but it just works ;) you just want the satellite images without clouds
