Apple launched its own original TV show called Planet of the Apps last year, but it was not well received by viewers or critics. After the first ten episodes aired, the first series was terminated and the show has since gone downhill. Gary Vaynerchuk, the star of the show, has now spoken out about the whole situation, saying that the show failed due to poor marketing.

When creating Planet of the Apps, Apple was inspired by similar shows, such as Shark Tank, known as Den D in the Czech Republic. Let's just quickly recall what the show was actually about. Young developers tried to pitch their app ideas in front of star mentors who included Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow, will.i.am and the aforementioned Gary Vaynerchuk. Their goal was to get financing for their project through the investment firm Lightspeed Venture Partners.

In a recent podcast, Gary 'Vee' confided that he didn't like the way Apple handled his show. He used somewhat peppery language in his comments, saying that Apple did not take good care of its show in terms of marketing.

“I was on the Apple show Planet of the Apps with Gwyneth, Will and Jessica. Apple didn't use me or Vayner to take care of the marketing and get everything wrong. Apple!”

He also mentioned that when it comes to dealing with Apple, he tried to be respectful.
