Even though Apple's main competitors have really interesting phones in their offer, their employees often prefer the iPhone. The proof is the Chinese Huawei, which wished its fans all the best for the new year on Twitter. There would be nothing wrong with this if the tweet was not followed by the revealing label "via Twitter for iPhone." The employees deleted the tweet after a few minutes, but they did not escape exemplary punishment.

Despite the fact that the tweet was deleted relatively quickly, many users managed to take a screenshot of it, which was immediately shared by foreign and Czech media. Right from the beginning of the year, Huawei did not do a very good PR, to which the company decided to react and sent out a letter yesterday informing what punishments the responsible employees received.

Chen Lifang, who holds the position of corporate senior vice president and director of the board at Huawei, revealed in the letter that the Twitter post was originally supposed to be sent from a desktop computer. However, due to a VPN error, staff had to reach for their iPhones to post the tweet at exactly midnight. However, the use of phones of other brands is generally forbidden to employees of Chinese companies, and according to Lifang, this case proves that the failure also occurred with a superior.

Huawei punished everyone involved. He reduced the rank of the two employees who were responsible for the error by one level and at the same time took 5 yuan (approximately CZK 000) from their monthly salary. He then froze their supervisor, the director of digital marketing, for 16 months.

However, this is not the first time that something similar has happened to Huawei. Actress Gal Gadot, who served as the company's ambassador for a while, posted a paid tweet promoting the Huawei Mate 10 from an iPhone as well. But the tweet only went viral after it was shared on the Chinese social network Weibo.
