The Humble Bundle website will now offer individual games for separate purchase in addition to classic game bundles. A large part of the offer is also intended for Mac computers, and all of the games sold can be downloaded from the Steam store.
The Humble Bundle brand is traditionally associated by the gaming public with bundles of video games that Offers from indie games to the biggest AAA titles. At the same time, the bundle does not neglect platforms such as Mac, iOS or Android. All games cost anything from $1 and up, and you can also donate to various charities with your purchase.
But today, the Humble brand is coming up with something completely new. Next to game packages a weekly discounts also opens a traditional store, which should eventually resemble services such as, for example GOG. The difference is that it should—at least according to a report on the Humble Mumble blog—offer lower prices. And the distribution of the proceeds is also different: 70% goes to the developer, 15% to the operator and another 15% to the charity companies.
The newly opened store offers sixteen games, one of the most famous of which is survival horror Alan Wake, a logical indie game Antechamber, frantic action Orcs Must Die! 2 or medieval Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. On the American version of the store, we can also find two more big titles that we cannot buy in Europe. They are very successful MMORPGs Guild Wars 2 (50% off at $29,99) and an eighties shooter Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon (66% off for 4,99). So far, we can only find these two games in the store using unlocking services like Hola! or Media Hint.
Most of the games sold can be used on Windows, OS X and some even on Linux. All of them then cooperate with the widespread Steam service.
While the Humble Store currently only offers a handful of games, its potential is considerable. The Humble Bundle service earned $50 million in three years of its existence, $20 million of which went to charity. The total volume of sales and earnings for the developers themselves was much larger. The new service quickly became widely known to the public, and it can therefore be expected that even the Humble Store will find its customers.
Guild Wars 2 will probably only be for American servers, right? Has anyone tried it? Or do they have universal keys?
I wasn't sure about that either, but I found this official statement:
Is my copy of Guild Wars 2 tied to my region?
Yes. To play from North America you must purchase a North American copy of the game. To play from Europe you must purchase a European copy of the game. Note that this restriction affects where you can play from, not which game worlds you can choose to play on.
By purchasing the correct copy of the game, you're supporting the game in your country, and you'll be connecting to your local data center, using your local customer support team, and downloading the correct language support for your country.
If you were after a lot of that discount, it would probably be through a one-time use of a proxy.
For customers in the North American and European regions, upon registration our servers will perform a *one-time* check to ensure your serial code matches the region you are connecting from.
Thanks a lot :) I'll see again, anyway now I know what to do if possible..
