In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. We focus here exclusively on the main events and leave aside all speculations and various leaks. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.

Apple computer sales are falling

The current situation surrounding the pandemic of a new type of coronavirus has literally affected the entire world, which has been reflected in practically all market segments. On the basis of data from the company Canalys, it has now been shown that the sales of Apple computers in the first quarter of this year have decreased considerably and, according to the mentioned company, Apple is the most affected company. Although the whole world is now pushing to work at the so-called home office, where quality equipment is needed, sales of Macs have fallen by 20 percent year-on-year. Indeed, in the first quarter of 2019, 4,07 million units were sold, while now only 3,2 million have been sold. However, a sharp increase was recorded by various accessories. As people need different devices for working from home, monitors, webcams, printers and headphones, for example, have seen greater demand. But we have to take the data from Canalys with a grain of salt. Apple itself never publishes exact numbers, and the mentioned data is based only on supply chain analyzes and consumer surveys.

GoodNotes brings interesting changes for Apple users

GoodNotes is primarily used by students on their iPads. It is one of the most popular note-taking apps available on all apple platforms. But GoodNotes developers have now decided to launch a universal version for iPhone, iPad and Mac users. So if you have already purchased this program for your iPhone or iPad in the past, you can now use it for free on your Mac as well. Until now, of course, these were two different apps and you had to purchase each one separately. According to GoodNotes developers, however, Apple did not allow this unification, which is why a new version for macOS had to be released. The old version will still be in the Mac App Store for a few days, but after some time it should disappear completely. For this reason, however, users who have so far only purchased the version for macOS are complaining. According to the developers, it was not possible to ensure that these people also get the mobile version for free. Allegedly, only a fraction of users will be affected by this situation, and for the vast majority this change will become a pleasant benefit.

TechInsights revealed the truth about Apple's new A12Z processor

Last month we saw the introduction of the brand new iPad Pro, which is powered by the Apple A12Z chip. As usual with Apple, they know how to sell their products and the marketing team made sure that this processor looks like a real beast. Of course, no one can deny its perfect performance, but many people wondered why we did not get a new chip with the serial number 13. The latest analysis by TechInsights has now revealed that Apple used the exact same chip that we could find in the iPad Pro from 2018 12, i.e. Apple AXNUMXX. The only change in this chip compared to its predecessor lies in the eighth graphics core. However, speculations started to circulate on the Internet earlier that it was the same chip, but only the mentioned eighth core, which was actually also in the previous chip, was unlocked by software. Unfortunately, this fact has now been confirmed and revealed by the latest analysis from TechInsights.

The Apple A12Z chip is found in the latest iPad Pro (2020):
