On the website of Jablíčkára, we recall from time to time some of the products that Apple introduced in the past. We recently recalled the legendary "lamp" or iMac G4, today we will talk about one of the relatively newer pieces - the iMac Pro, whose sale Apple has definitively discontinued this year.

Apple presented its iMac Pro at the WWDC developer conference on June 5, 2017. This computer went on sale in December 2017. From the very beginning, the company has made no secret of the fact that it considers this machine to be the most powerful Mac ever made. The new iMac Pro attracted the attention of several things, one of which was the price - it started at less than five thousand dollars. The iMac Pro was available in variants with eight, ten, fourteen and eighteen-core Intel Xeon processors, was equipped with a 5K resolution display, AMD Vega graphics, ECC type memory and 10GB Ethernet.

Among other things, the iMac Pro was also fitted with an Apple T2 chip for even better security and encryption. In March 2019, Apple came up with a version with 256GB of memory and Vega 64X graphics, and in the summer of the following year, the company said goodbye to the variant with an eight-core processor, and the variant with a ten-core processor became the basic model.

The design of the iMac Pro resembled the 27" iMac from 2012, and it was available - just like the accessories in the form of a Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad - in a space gray design. Unlike the aforementioned iMac, however, the iMac Pro was not equipped with a memory access port, which could only be modified in Apple Stores and authorized services. The iMac Pro was the first Mac to feature a T2 security chip. At the beginning of March of this year, Apple announced that it was discontinuing the sale of its iMac Pro. This computer disappeared from Apple's official e-shop on March 19 of this year.
