Probably not many people know the famous Guitar Hero series and its other clones. This music-oriented game concept has probably hit most platforms and was a great success on each of them, whether it was Playstation, Xbox or iPhone. The indisputable popularity of this genre is also evidenced by the fact that one of the first iPhone games was the now legendary Tap Tap Revenge. However, time progressed and several games of this genre appeared on the Apple platform. Gameloft, the matador in mobile gaming, is responsible for one of the series.

Gameloft has two such games in its portfolio, namely Guitar Rock Tour and its second sequel. True, it is not the latest game, but it would be a shame to miss it, especially when it has (probably already permanently) been reduced to a pleasant price of three dollars. As time has shown, games like Guitar Hero are made for the touch screen. I can confirm this fact from my own experience, when I had the opportunity to play the game of the same name on the Windows Mobile platform and was forced to control it with a directional controller, which was inconvenient, often inaccurate, and also limiting.

After starting the game, you will be greeted by a nice intro starting with the band's preparation in the backstage and their appearance in front of the audience, who will be greeted by the opening song Paranoid by the legendary Black Sabbath, which is also part of the game's musical repertoire. In the main menu, you can choose from several modes - Quick game, career or multiplayer. Right off the bat, I would choose the second option, which gradually unlocks all tracks and world stages, which you can then repeat in a quick game. At the beginning of your career, you self-sign that you won't sell yourself to commerce, disband the band, and organize a "reunion" line before breaking up again. Next, you have to choose a character, an instrument - guitar or drums - and finally you choose the difficulty. Your star may begin to rise.

Like all bands, you start with a concert in a garage and gradually work your way up to other stages around the world, you'll stop in Seattle, Tokyo, Rome, and you'll even have the opportunity to perform in front of the pyramids in Cairo. On each stage, you will play two songs from the world repertoire, of which the game offers a total of eighteen. In most cases, these are very well-known hits, and I didn't know only a few of them myself.

The "concerting" itself is exactly what you know from Guitar Hero or other clones. After the virtual fingerboard, discs representing notes come towards you, on which you have to press at the right time according to the rhythm. This may seem easy at first, but once you start playing on a higher difficulty, you will see for yourself how your fingers will dance on the bottom of the display during the guitar solo, as you can see for yourself in the second video below the article that I made. In addition to classic clicking and holding long notes, the game is complemented by a bonus in the form of a kind of four-step scale, which is added to you when you play the orange-marked notes flawlessly. After activation, i.e. switching the lever, your score is multiplied for a certain time. However, the attached videos will tell you much more than any detailed description.

In addition to the score, you also get various achievements, thanks to which you unlock new options, such as the selection of guitars. Some of them really make you sweat, after all, playing 200 notes without a mistake or playing a solo at 100% is often a superhuman task on higher difficulties, but it will also extend the life of the game. After all, choosing a career as a drummer de facto doubles it. You can spice up your gameplay with a multiplayer game, and if you're tired of all 18 songs, the list of which you can find at the end of the review, you can buy new songs. There are two three-song packs to choose from, bringing the tracklist to a whopping 24 tracks.

If you're at least a little bit of a rock fan, definitely don't miss Guitar Rock Tour 2, it's literally a lot of music for a little money. It is available in the App Store for a very pleasant €2,39, just like her first, equally high-quality part.
