TomTom's novelty in the form of the Runner Cardio GPS watch, intended mainly for athletes, comes with an interesting innovation. You will no longer need to wear an uncomfortable chest strap to monitor and measure your heart rate. The optical sensor detects heart rate using highly luminous diodes that shine through the skin and monitor blood flow in real time.

In addition to the heart rate, the modern and especially sports-tuned watch displays to its owner other useful information regarding his sporting activity. There is no lack of data on the current and average pace, the length of individual breaks, the total distance traveled and many other things that we are used to from similar devices.

There are also pre-set programs for all less experienced athletes who are not completely familiar with the correct heart rate values and do not know which band is suitable to monitor for a given type of training. The five created sports "maps" think of Sprint (interval training), Speed (speed and fitness training), Endure (strengthening lung and heart capacity), Fat-Burn (optimal fat burning) and of course the Easy mode (beginners and less skilled athletes , who are just starting out with running).

The durable body can withstand submersion up to 50 meters and other rough handling – so it's not just a toy for jogging in the park. All functions are controlled via one button, and thanks to the integrated pedometer, it is possible to monitor your activity even when jogging in the fitness center on the treadmill. It is this function that makes the TomTom Runner Cardio a really comprehensive helper, as you can use it during any training session, regardless of whether you are outdoors or indoors.

If you also use other advanced tools to monitor your activities after training, you can synchronize data from GPS and other sensors. Services such as TomTom MySport, RunKeeper, TrainingPeaky, MapMyFitness and others are offered.

But every similar novelty costs something, and here you will really have to dig a little deeper into your pocket. The recommended price for the TomTom Runner Cardio is set at CZK 8, and the version with a more complex system designed for more activities in the form of Multi-Sport Cardio costs CZK 300. You can now pre-order the Runner Cardio watch for CZK 7 on the Vže.cz website, should arrive at the store by the end of May at the latest.
