For fans of the Android operating system and the Samsung brand, one of the two highlights of this year came a few days ago. The South Korean company presented this year's flagship called the Galaxy S10, and according to the first reviews, it's really worth it. Shortly after the release, the first reviews and tests began to appear, which include a comparison of the quality of the camera against the biggest competitor, which is undoubtedly the iPhone XS.

One such benchmark was released on the server Macrumors, where they pitted the Samsung Galaxy S10+ against the iPhone XS Max. You can see how it turned out in the pictures, or also in the video, which you can find below in the article.

The editors of the Macrumors server connected the entire test with a guessing contest, where they gradually posted pictures taken by both models on Twitter, but without indicating which phone took which picture. Thus, users could tip and, above all, rate the quality of the images without being influenced by the knowledge of their "favorite".

The test set of images was composed of a total of six different compositions, which were supposed to simulate different conditions and objects of photography. The images were shared as the phone took them, without any additional editing. You can view the gallery above and compare whether the phone marked as A or the model marked as B takes better photos. The subjective results are equal, in some scenes the model A wins, in others B. The readers of the server could not find such a clear favorite, nor could I personally to say that one of the phones is better than the other in all respects.

If you looked in the gallery, the iPhone XS Max is hidden behind the letter A, and the new Galaxy S10+ is hidden behind the letter B. The iPhone subjectively did better with the character portrait shot, as well as offering slightly better dynamic range for the city composition with sky and sun. Samsung, on the other hand, did a better job of photographing the sign, the bokeh effect of the cup and the wide-angle shot (thanks to the presence of the ultra-wide lens).

As for the video, the quality is almost identical for both models, but the test showed that the Galaxy S10+ has slightly better image stabilization, so it has a slight advantage in a direct comparison. So we'll leave the conclusion up to you. In general, however, we can be glad that the differences between the individual flagships are not at all striking, and whether you reach for an iPhone, Samsung or even a Pixel from Google, you will not be disappointed by the quality of the photos in any case. And that's great.
