The Taiwanese supplier of iPhones and iPads Foxconn would like to diversify its production, but Apple remains its most important and most lucrative client. This is evidenced by the latest plan to build a new factory for more than half a third billion dollars, which will produce displays exclusively for the Californian company.

Construction of the factory, which will be built in southern Taiwan on the campus of Kaohsiung Science Park, is expected to begin next month, and mass production of displays is expected to start in late 2015. It will be managed by a modern sixth-generation factory of Innolux, the display arm of Foxconn. 2 jobs are expected to be created.

Foxconn already has dedicated factories in China for assembling iPhones and iPads, but the first production hall will now be built in Taiwan, the sole purpose of which will be the creation of components that will then go into Apple products.
