The power of cell phones is that once you unbox them and fire up the camera app, you can immediately take photos with them. Just aim at the scene and press the shutter, anytime and (almost) anywhere. But the result will also look like that. So it takes some thought to make your images as pleasing as possible. And from that, here is our series Taking photos with an iPhone, in which we show you everything you need. Now we're moving to the Camera app.

The Camera app is the basic photography title on iOS. Its advantage is that it is immediately at hand, because it is fully integrated into it, and also that it works quickly and reliably. But did you know that you don't even need to look for its desktop icon to run it? Compared to other titles installed from App Store in fact, it offers the option to launch from the locked screen or from the Control Center.

Lock screen

Consider a situation where you need to quickly take a snapshot. You pick up your iPhone, unlock it, find Camera on the device's desktop, launch it, and then take a photo. Of course, the moment you wanted to capture is long gone. But there is a significantly faster way to record. Basically, all you have to do is turn on your iPhone, and you'll immediately see a camera icon in the lower right corner. All you have to do is press it hard with your finger, or hold your finger on it for a long time, depending on which iPhone model you own. You can also swipe your finger across the display from the right side to the left and you will also start the Camera immediately.

It doesn't have to be just a case of a locked screen. The same icon and the same option to launch the Camera can be found in the Notification Center. You just need to download it from top to bottom and you will again find the application symbol at the bottom right. You can start it in the same way as in the above case, i.e. by swiping your finger across the display to the left.

Control Center

On iPhones with Face ID, Control Center is opened by swiping down from the top right corner. If you are in Settings -> Control Center they did not specify otherwise, so the Camera icon is also located here. The advantage of launching an application from the Control Center is that you can activate it anywhere on the system, so long as you have the option turned on Access in applications. Whether you're writing a message, surfing the web, or playing a game. This simple gesture will save you the process of turning off the application, finding the Camera icon on the desktop and launching it.

Strength touch and long hold icons

If you don't want to give up using the application icon after all, using a gesture Strength touch (pressing hard on the application), or holding the icon for a long time (it depends on which iPhone model you own), will bring up an additional menu. It immediately allows you to take a selfie portrait, a classic portrait, record a video or take a normal selfie. Again, this saves you time because you don't have to switch between modes until the application is running. However, this also works in the Control Center. Instead of tapping the icon, press it hard or hold your finger on it for a while. This will allow you to run the same modes as in the case above.
