Although we won't see the Apple Watch and the new MacBook until April, we can try one of the new features in them already on another machine. We are talking about the Force Touch function, which Apple also added to the trackpad of the 13-inch MacBook Pro. With Force Touch, it will be possible to use the trackpad for completely new actions.
Dom Esposito of 9to5Mac spent the last day by just on tested the MacBook Pro introduced on Monday, which is all possible on the new trackpad, which recognizes how hard you press it
Apple did not mention all the possibilities during the keynote. In addition, the API will be released to developers, so the possibilities of use with Force Touch are endless. Esposito selected 15 actions that the new trackpad makes possible thanks to Force Click (a click and subsequent stronger pressing of the trackpad) and which interested him the most.
The following actions will be possible using Force Click:
- Rename any label
- Rename any file
- View event details in Calendar
- Click on any date to create an event
- Place a pin in Maps
- Zoom faster/slower in Maps depending on how hard you press
- Look up a password in the dictionary
- Faster/slower overdrive depending on how hard you push
- View all open application windows
- Right click on the selected icons in the dock
- Editing contacts
- Add a contact by clicking on a number or email address
- Preview any link (Safari only)
- View options Do not disturb in the news
- Pressure sensitive drawing
You can see all the aforementioned Force Touch functions in the attached video.

I wonder if they apply this to the MagicMouse as well.
That wouldn't be bad :-) but don't take away the mechanical button :-D
If I apply ForceTouch to the Magic Mouse, the button will be taken quite logically, I don't see how else they would solve it.
I remember the time when Jobs said that more than one mouse button is bullshit.
I'm more interested in what Apple intends to do with MB fifteen, obviously Force Click won't be the main upgrade when they only updated MB thirteen with it
He updated only 13″, because there are no processors up to 15″, there is nothing else beyond that. If Intel delivers adequate models, there will also be an update to 15″.
Broadwell is already on the 15″ and 17″ line from other manufacturers, I don’t think it would be in it…
I do not know what it means. Perhaps it depends on who installs it and Apple simply does not have the necessary CPU.
