Quick add to folder

Text selection in quick preview

Most of you know that if you select any file in the Finder and press the spacebar, you will see a preview of that file. With the help of a simple command in the Terminal, you can also arrange so that in the case of text files, you can mark and select the text directly in this preview, without having to run the file in question. So, first start Terminal, enter the command in it defaults write com.apple.finder QLEnableTextSelection -bool TRUE; killall finder and press Enter. If you have the Finder running, quit and relaunch it - it should now be possible to select text in the document preview.

Changing the default folder

Do your steps after launching the Finder go to the same folder most of the time? To save time spent clicking through to the appropriate location, you can set that folder as the default in the Finder. On the toolbar at the top of your Mac screen, click Finder -> Preferences. Click on the General tab and in the In new Finder windows section, select the desired folder from the drop-down menu.
