Even a person who is willing to buy a full-fledged second monitor for his computer cannot take it with him everywhere he would like to use it. Duet Display solves this problem. This is an application that allows its user to use the iPad as a second monitor.
Although the size of the iPad's display is not the largest, its resolution is generous, which the Duet Display application is able to take full advantage of. Not only does it support the full display resolution of "retina" iPads (2048 × 1536), but it transmits the image at a frequency of up to 60 frames per second. In real use, this means smooth operation with minimal occasional delays. The operating system can be controlled by touch on the iPad, but scrolling with two fingers is not ideal, and of course OS X does not have controls graphically adapted for this.
Connecting the two devices is simple - you need to have the Duet Display application installed and running on both. Just connect the iPad to the computer with a cable (Lightning or 30-pin) and the connection will be established within seconds. Any other device with iOS 7 and higher can be connected to the computer in the same way.
Until now, Duet Display was only available for OS X computers, but the latest version is now also available for Windows computers. The app here works the same way and almost as reliably. Touches on the iPad display are understood by the application as mouse interactions, so gestures cannot be used.
Duet Display can be downloaded in versions for OS X and Windows for free on the manufacturer's website, for iOS now at a discount for 9,99 €.

Great app, I use it daily. Smaller errors could be pointed out – for example, the full retina mode is unusable (you need to download the resolution) and sometimes it takes a while to establish a connection between Mac and iPad. But it is by far the best mobile office solution. Compared to the competition, which uses Wi-Fi for image transmission, the delay in this case is absolutely minimal.
Can't "full retina mode" be connected somehow?
I assume that the problem with the retina will be in the cable, which will not be able to transfer 4k resolution. Or I'm wrong, well. :D
Dan team thought that the retina works, but on such a small display it is not God knows what to look at such small letters.
Finally also for Windows :) I already tried it on my friend's Macbook and it worked perfectly :) But when I changed the resolution and location of the "monitor" the program on my computer always shut down and I had to start it again, but it doesn't matter :) I even get over it managed to "play" GTA V on iPhone :D just had to lower framerate and resolution :D
