The iOS application of the popular Dropbox cloud storage has received a very interesting update. In version 3.9, it brings a number of pleasant novelties, but also great promise for the near future.

The first major innovation of the latest Dropbox for iOS is the ability to comment on individual files and discuss them with specific users using the so-called @mentions, which we know from Twitter, for example. A brand new "Recents" panel has also been added to the bottom bar, allowing you to view files you've recently worked with. The last big news is the integration of the popular password manager 1Password, which will make logging into Dropbox much easier and faster for its users.

However, as already mentioned in the introduction, Dropbox also promised something new for the future. Over the next few weeks, it will be possible to create Office documents directly in the Dropbox app for iPhone and iPad. The company behind Dropbox thus continues to benefit from its partnership with Microsoft, and thanks to this, users can easily create Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents directly in a specific folder in the Dropbox storage. A new "Create document" button will appear in the application.

Commenting on files, which has now been added to the iOS application, is also possible in the Dropbox web interface. There, the company already added this function at the end of April.
