It supports various gestures, boasts a great response and can also react to the level of pressure thanks to Force Touch technology. So it definitely has a lot to offer. While the trackpad is quite popular among Apple users, the same cannot be said for the Magic Mouse.

Before we look at the potential new generation, let's quickly summarize the major shortcomings that plague users of the current model. Criticism is most often addressed to the not very well-thought-out charging. Magic Mouse 2 uses its own Lightning connector for this. But the problem is that it is located on the bottom of the mouse. Therefore, whenever we want to charge it, we will not be able to use it during this time, which may play a crucial role for some. On the other hand, one thing must be acknowledged. It can work comfortably for more than a month on a single charge.
Apple growers are still not satisfied with the aforementioned unique shape. While competing mice try to use ergonomics to their advantage and thus provide users with several hours of completely carefree use, Apple, on the other hand, has taken a different path. He put the overall design above comfort and in the end paid a heavy price for it. As the users themselves mention, using the Magic Mouse 2 for several hours can even hurt your hand. Bottom line, traditional mice clearly outperform the apple representative. If we consider, for example, the Logitech MX Master, which costs more or less the same as the Magic Mouse, we have a clear winner. So it's no wonder people prefer the trackpad.

What will the new generation bring?
As we already mentioned in the introduction, the current Magic Mouse 2 has been with us since 2015. So this year it will celebrate its eighth birthday. Apple growers have therefore been discussing for a long time what a possible successor will bring and when we will even see it. Unfortunately, there is not much positive news waiting for us in this direction, on the contrary. There is no talk of any development or possible successor at all, which suggests that Apple simply does not count on such a product. At least not at the moment.

On the other hand, one change will have to take place in the following period. Due to legislative changes by the EU, when the USB-C connector was defined as a standard that must be offered by all mobile devices (phones, tablets, accessories, etc.), it is more than clear that the Magic Mouse will not avoid this change. However, according to a number of apple growers, this will be the only change that currently awaits the apple mouse. Other important information can also be deduced from this. Any news or redesign is simply excluded, and the Magic Mouse with a USB-C connector will probably offer it in exactly the same place - on the bottom. However, as we mentioned above, given the battery life, this is not such a big problem.
