On this occasion, he gave an interview to the same magazine where he talked about his career in music up to his years at Beats. Iovine started at the age of 19 as a hallway cleaner in a recording studio. 36 years later, he founded a highly successful premium headphone company. Not long after Beats launched their own streaming service, Apple bought them for $XNUMX billion.
Jimmy Iovine has been convinced for a long time that Beats should be bought by Apple. It was his long-term plan and he continuously convinced the Californian company to make the acquisition. "I don't want to work for anyone else. I want to work on it at Apple. I know I can achieve that at Apple," he said. "I want to go PULL, to Steve's company." According to Steve Jobs, music has always been in Apple's DNA, which Iovine also appreciates, but he wants to take musical efforts even further, so he told Apple representatives: "I know that Apple understands popular culture. By plugging the hole, Iovine means expanding Apple's music offerings with a streaming service that's been noticeably absent from the company, despite its attempt at personal Internet radio. “When I got to Apple to work on the music service that we're doing, I go all in.
