Disney fans finally have a reason to celebrate. This giant announced this week that its Disney+ streaming service will be launched in the Czech Republic and Slovakia during the summer of this year. Although this platform was supposed to be available in the countries of Central Europe, it is not known why the original plans failed. However, since the mentioned launch is around the corner, a rather interesting question is offered - do the currently available services have anything to worry about? Let's therefore summarize what content Disney+ will actually offer and how it differs from, for example, Netflix, HBO GO or TV+.
Past services
Before we look at the aforementioned Disney+ service, let's focus on currently available platforms that enjoy the most popularity in our region. There is definitely a lot to choose from.
Netflix
Of course, the current king can be considered a streaming service Netflix, which has managed to gain a considerable number of fans during its existence. In the final, there is nothing to be surprised about. The platform previously benefited mainly from the presence of time-tested classics such as Friends or The Big Bang Theory. Although there are more similar films and series, unfortunately they all met the same fate - they eventually disappeared from the Netflix library. Quite possibly for this reason, Netflix started investing a lot of money in original content. And as it seems, he hit the nail on the head. Now viewers have at their disposal amazing works such as Squid Game, The Witcher, Sex Education and many others, as well as several great films.
Unfortunately, with a larger library full of original content, of course, comes a higher price compared to the competition. Netflix is available from 199 crowns per month for the Basic version, in which case you have to settle for standard resolution and the ability to watch on only one device at a time. You can pay extra for the Standard variant, which allows you to watch on up to two devices simultaneously in Full HD resolution. In that case, prepare 259 crowns per month. The best version is Premium, when the resolution goes up to UHD (4K) and you can even watch on up to four devices at the same time. The subscription in this version will cost 319 crowns per month.
HBO GO
It is also popular HBO GO. This service is even cheaper than competitor Netflix (159 crowns per month) and builds on prestigious content, including titles from Warner Bros, Adult Swim, TCM and others. In short, quality content is on offer here, and believe me, there is plenty to choose from. Whether you're a fan of exciting movies or light-hearted series, you'll definitely find something to suit you here. Among the most important titles, we can mention, for example, the Harry Potter saga, Tenet or the beloved Shrek. On the other hand, I have to personally admit that in terms of user interface, HBO GO is slightly behind. Compared to Netflix, searching and generally working on the platform is not as friendly, and I also miss better categorization of popular titles or currently watched series.
Apple TV +
The third contender is TV+. This apple service tries to impress with original content of various genres, in which it is relatively successful. But that word is relatively important, because the content itself is celebrating success, but from the point of view of the popularity of the platform as a whole, it is no longer so famous. In this regard, Apple also benefits from offering the service to anyone who purchases a new Apple device. In that case, they will receive a 3-month subscription completely free of charge and can then decide whether TV+ is worth 139 crowns a month. Among the most popular programs of the service are undoubtedly the series Ted Lasso, which won a number of prestigious awards, See, The Morning Show and many others.
What Disney+ will bring
But let's move on to the most important thing - the arrival of the Disney+ platform. This service hits the mark with most local viewers, as Disney has a lot of amazing content that is definitely worth watching. If you are considering subscribing to this service, you can look forward to popular Marvel movies, including Iron Man, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Thor, Captain America, Avengers, Eternals and many others, Pixar films, Star saga Wars, The Simpsons series and many others. Although these may not be interesting programs for some, believe me, on the other hand, for the other group, they are absolute alpha and omega.
Disney+ price
At the same time, it is not yet clear how Disney+ will fare in terms of price. In the United States, a monthly subscription costs $7,99, while the service costs €8,99 in countries where the currency is the euro. However, it is still unclear what the price tag will be on the Czech market. But the interesting thing is that even if it were a European price, Disney+ would still be cheaper than, for example, Netflix Standard.
Hello editor, I don't know where to write this, but now I spent (according to the screen recording) 5 minutes of my life turning off your cookies, incl. preferences of your suppliers (storage and access to information on the device, etc.), where you have both files from the Chinese and Russians, etc.
As an Apple fan, I am really outraged that you as an editor call yourself Apple fans and have no interest in the privacy of readers, as this has trampled the entire APPLE philosophy into the ground. By law, you should have the option to "reject cookies and the rest of the ballast" from 1.1.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX, please arrange it as soon as possible, I don't like clicking away from everything I disagree with and then writing here what you're doing wrong (again, wasted time).. Don't get angry and thank you
I completely agree with you. It is one of the most pressing cases here, pushing people to accept all cookies.
+1 TOTALLY AGREE!
Nice harness
I'd rather stop cleaning this website than keep clicking like crazy 👹
I absolutely agree.
You're really stupid, you must have a really miserable life 😃😃😃
Totally agree.
Will there be films and series in the Czech language or will it only be with subtitles.
In my opinion, the vast majority with subtitles
Personally, I prefer subtitles, but for a "children's" channel (that's how I perceive Disney+), everything should definitely be dubbed (at that price). So that it doesn't turn out like a Prime video, where you can at least be happy for the subtitles. They are going to some Czech Republic.
