After the introduction of the new iPad, there is naturally speculation about what else Apple will come up with this year. As Tim Cook said, we still have a lot to look forward to this year.

The annual WWDC developer conference will soon be upon us, and there will certainly be several other events as well. And information about possible news that Apple is preparing for us is already starting to appear on foreign servers.

MacBook Pro

With the new generations of iPhone and iPad not long ago, attention naturally turned to Mac computers. The AppleInsider server allegedly managed to find out from unnamed sources that a radical change is about to be made in the field of MacBook portable computers, which should bring the Air and Pro product lines closer together. It is true that when the first ultra-thin MacBook Air was introduced, Steve Jobs stated that his company expects that this is how most laptops will look in the future. Now it would be appropriate to point out that history is already slowly being fulfilled. We can perhaps take a little dig at PC manufacturers and their attempts at "ultrabooks", but what is more important is what Apple itself will come up with.

Its professional MacBook Pro series has not undergone any major changes for a long time and in many ways lags behind its thinner sibling. It already basically enjoys fast flash drives and better displays, which would certainly be useful for many professionals. It's surprising that the consumer line of laptops has better resolution displays than the more expensive and more powerful machines designed for professionals who often work with graphics for a living. In this respect, Apple will definitely want to work and it is rumored that the main currency of the new generation of MacBook Pro will be the retina display. Another big change should be the new, thinner unibody body and the absence of an optical drive, which most users don't use anyway. Optical discs have been replaced by digital distributions, be it software, media content, or even cloud storage. In addition, the new MacBooks will make wider use of Thunderbolt technology and should feature new Intel processors based on the Ivy Bridge architecture.

If we summarize the available speculations, after the upcoming update, the Air and Pro series should differ in display resolution, connectivity width, performance of the supplied hardware, and also in the possibility of changing it. Both series should then offer fast flash drives and a thin aluminum body. According to AppleInsider, we can look forward to the new 15-inch laptop in the spring, the 17-inch model should follow shortly after.

iMac

Another possible novelty could be a new generation of all-in-one iMac computers. According to the Taiwanese server DigiTimes, it should not be a radical redesign, but rather an evolution of the current aluminum look that Apple introduced at the end of 2009. Specifically, it should be a thinner profile more reminiscent of an LED television; however, he does not mention the possibility of introducing a third diagonal between today's 21,5" and 27", which some users might appreciate. The surprise is the alleged use of anti-reflective glass. Here, however, the report of the Taiwanese daily is unfortunately again stingy with information - it is not clear from it whether it will be a general change or just an optional option.

The new iMacs could also come with new peripherals. According to patent, which was published in February this year, is that Apple is working on a new, even thinner and more comfortable keyboard.

iPhone 5?

The last of the speculations is also the most curious of all. The Japanese TV Tokyo published an interview with the human resources officer of the Chinese company Foxconn, which is also in charge of the production of many Apple products. The employee said in the interview that he was tasked with recruiting eighteen thousand new workers in preparation for the production of the "fifth generation phone". He then added that it will be launched in June this year. But this statement is at least strange for two reasons. The new iPhone would actually be the sixth generation – the original iPhone was followed by the 3G, 3GS, 4 and 4S – and it is highly unlikely that Apple would shorten the cycle of its hardware below the current minimum of one year. What also does not fit into the iPhone manufacturer's strategy is the possibility that a lower-ranking employee of one of the suppliers would learn about the upcoming product ahead of time. Jablíčkář therefore believes that it is more realistic to count on an update of Mac computers in the near future.
