Invitations sent out, the public informed, expectations high. Already on Wednesday, September 7 the spotlights will shine in the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco and the second keynote of the year will begin with a speech by Apple CEO Tim Cook. It will most likely reveal new generations of the iPhone and the Apple Watch. The speech should also reach the software background in the form of updated operating systems.

Innumerable speculative information is spreading around the world, but based on past experience, it is advisable to rely mainly on two personalities - Mark Gurman from Bloomberg and Ming-Chi Kua of the analytics company KGI. They have access to solid sources that are often very accurate. According to Gurman and Ku, what will the news have? It must be taken into account that the given information may not be completely true.

Undoubtedly, the biggest attraction is hardware news. In this case, it should mainly be the new generation of iPhone with the designation 7 and the second generation of the Watch.

iPhone 7

  • Two versions: 4,7-inch iPhone 7 and 5,5-inch iPhone 7 Plus.
  • Similar design compared to the previous 6S/6S Plus models (the exception is the missing antenna lines).
  • Five color options: traditional silver, gold and rose gold, space gray is to be replaced by "dark black" and a completely new variant is to be "piano black" with a glossy finish.
  • A display with a wider range of colors, similar to the 9,7-inch iPad Pro. The question is whether Apple will use True Tone technology.
  • The absence of a 3,5 mm jack and its replacement by an additional speaker or microphone.
  • New Home button with haptic response instead of physical.
  • Improved camera on the 4,7-inch model with optical stabilization.
  • Dual camera for deeper zooming and better photo clarity on the 7 Plus model.
  • Faster A10 processor from TSMC with 2,4GHz frequency.
  • RAM increase to 3 GB on the 7 Plus version.
  • The lowest capacity will increase to 32 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB will also be available (i.e. the release of the 16 GB and 64 GB variants).
  • Lightning EarPods and a Lightning to 3,5mm jack adapter in each package for headphone compatibility.

Watch Apple 2

  • Two models: the new Apple Watch 2 and the updated version of the first generation.
  • A faster chip from TSMC.
  • GPS module for more accurate measurement of fitness activities.
  • Barometer with enhanced geolocation capabilities.
  • 35% increase in battery capacity.
  • Water resistance (unable to determine to what extent).
  • No significant design changes.

In addition to the aforementioned hardware equipment, Apple should officially release new updates for all its operating systems. This information is not of any kind of speculation, but is confirmed by the company itself, which presented it at WWDC in June, and by beta users.

iOS 10

Watch 3

  • Launch applications faster.
  • SOS function for crisis situations.
  • Improved measurement of fitness activities.
  • The new Breathe app.
  • Support for Apple Pay within other applications.
  • New dials.

TvOS 10

  • More Siri integration.
  • Single sign-on for a variety of TV content.
  • Night mode.
  • The new look of Apple Music.

  • Unlocking your computer with Apple Watch as part of Continuity.
  • Redesigned iMessage.
  • A more understandable Photos application.

The impatient wait for new Apple computers will most likely have to continue for some time. At least until next month. In October, according to the latest reports, Apple should introduce new iron in this segment as well.

He should come new MacBook Pro with a functional touch bar, a faster processor, a better graphics card, a larger trackpad and also with USB-C. Next to it, an updated MacBook Air with USB-C support (probably without a Retina display), a faster iMac with better graphics and possibly a separate 5K display is also expected.

On Wednesday, September 7 from 19 p.m., the talk will be mainly about iPhones and watches. Apple will be the entire keynote broadcast live again - the stream can be watched via Safari on iPhones, iPads and iPod touch with iOS 7 and above, Safari (6.0.5 and later) on Mac (with OS X 10.8.5 and later) or Edge browser on Windows 10. Streaming it will also take place on Apple TV from the second generation.

At Jablíčkář, we will of course follow the entire event and offer you detailed coverage of it. You can watch the most important things that will happen during the keynote on our Twitter a Facebook.
