If you follow events on the international scene, you probably haven't missed the latest chapter in the trade war between the US and China. US President Donald Trump this week imposed additional tariffs on selected products from China, which, among other things, strengthens anti-American sentiment among the Chinese population. This is also reflected in the boycott of some American products, especially goods from Apple.

Donald Trump has issued an order ordering an increase in the tariff burden on selected products from 10 to 25%. In the next few months, the customs duty could be extended to other products, with some Apple accessories already affected. However, in addition to tariffs on imported products, the latest executive order also restricted the supply of components from the US to China, which is quite a problem for some manufacturers. It is because of this that anti-American tendencies are growing both among Chinese officials and among customers.

Apple is seen in China as a symbol of American capitalism, and as such is taking a hit in the trade tussle between the two countries. According to foreign media, Apple's popularity is declining among Chinese customers who feel affected by this trade war. This manifests (and will continue to manifest in the future) artificially reduced interest in Apple products, which will greatly harm the company. Especially when Apple has not been doing well in China for a long time.

Anti-App tendencies are spreading among users on the social network Weibo, encouraging potential customers to boycott the American company while supporting domestic products. Similar requests to boycott Apple products are not uncommon in China - a similar situation occurred late last year when a high-ranking Huawei executive was detained in Canada.
