All operators have announced the price lists of the new iPhone 5, while Vodafone and T-Mobile will sell the phone directly, Telefónica O2 relies on partner sales via the Apple.cz website. Apple has not yet published the official prices, but they will be at least CZK 2 higher.
Vodafone
Vodafone has already started the pre-registration of interested parties on its website, the sale will start classically at midnight on the set date of September 28. If you buy the phone over the Internet and at the same time activate the tariff on a new SIM card, you will get a discount of CZK 1000. The midnight sale will take place in Prague in the store on Wenceslas Square, in Brno in Masarykova Street and in Ostrava in OC Nová Karolina.
What is not pleasing are definitely the prices. Ever since MacBooks became more expensive, it was expected that the unfavorable exchange rate of the euro against the dollar would also affect other new Apple products. The iPhone 5 is no exception. Vodafone will offer only two variants, 16 GB and 64 GB, the first of which will cost 17 CZK, for the second you will pay an astronomical 577 CZK. And what are the subsidies? Ridiculous like the last three years, the most you can save on the 22 GB variant with a minimum monthly payment of CZK 997, which is less than CZK 16. Please note that with Vodafone's new "revolutionary" tariffs, you subscribe for two years compared to previous years. In addition to iPhone 2, the operator will also offer iPhone 177S 10 GB and iPhone 000 5 GB.

T-Mobile
A while ago, T-Mobile also published its prices. It, like Vodafone, will hold a midnight sale, but only in one place - in Prague on Národní třída. T-Mobile has not yet mentioned pre-registration.
The operator has prepared a whole series of tables according to which existing customers are favored, saving up to CZK 2 with the highest monthly payment. In addition, T-Mobile offers data tariffs for the phone, which will reduce the final price of the iPhone 300 by CZK 5 (Internet in the Standard mobile phone) and CZK 500 (Internet in the Classic mobile phone). However, the subsidies are even more ridiculous than with Vodafone, with the highest monthly payment without a data plan you save a maximum of less than CZK 1000 as new customers and over CZK 6 as existing customers.
T-Mobile will sell all variants of the iPhone 5, and will also offer the iPhone 4S 16 GB at a lower price. Basic prices without subsidies are about 500 CZK lower than Vodafone, the lowest 16 GB variant costs 16 CZK, the highest 999 CZK. As with Vodafone, both color variants will be on offer.

* The total price will be reduced by CZK 500 with the Standard mobile Internet data plan, and by CZK 1000 with the Classic mobile Internet.
Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),
Apple has not yet published its official prices, but the price of the iPhone 4S 16 GB has changed, which is currently 13 990 $. When the iPhone 4S was released last year, Apple offered the iPhone 4 16 GB at a reduced price of CZK 11, so the iPhone 990 should be about CZK 5 more expensive than last year's prices. What would the price list look like then? The 2 GB variant would cost 16 490 $, 32 GB variant on 19 990 $ and the highest 64GB variant on 21 990 $. The prices are truly dizzying for a phone, we can only hope that the economic situation will improve in the foreseeable future and the euro will strengthen against the dollar.
Once upon a time, a 4K 16 GB cost me 13,5k without VAT... I bought it at czc.cz, sold a 3GS to a friend in perfect condition for 8k, so the new phone cost me 5,5k :) I just want to be able to skillfully "turn" it around and find it you are a VAT payer who wants to add something to the costs and that VAT will be returned to him later...
Even if the euro strengthened against the dollar, the change in the case of the iPhone would only be felt a year from now when the new prices are implemented.
That hope applies in general, not just for the iPhone ;-)
I think it's a mistake to rely/not rely on exchange rates. Prices The price ratio of USD/EUR apples does not change much. The difference, however, is when you buy USD for crowns in order to be able to buy things in the USA. I used to do it (that is, in Canada, where things are not allowed to be blocked), but now I'm too lazy to do it right away, and with a Czech warranty, I still have to pay 20% more.
So what to say? The prices are really scary, I've been waiting for a new iPhone for over two years, but this is a massacre, almost 18 for the cheapest option... That's too damn much !!!
Well, the operators increased the prices by 1000 CZK, so I wouldn't say for sure that the prices will go up by 2000 CZK yet... There is still a possibility that the iPhone 4S will go a little lower when the 5 goes on sale. After all, the difference between the 3GS and 4 was 3000 ,- and now the difference between 4 and 4S is 4400,- which is so strange. At the same time, the stated estimated price of 32 for the 19.999GB version is nonsense - that would be an increase of 3, not 2. I still hope that they will "only" increase the price by 1000, 1500 at the most, otherwise they would increase the price here by much more than the neighbors...
I think the same as fellow "fx"; the prices of the old mobiles will drop even more with the arrival of the five and now they are what they are only because the latest model is not yet on sale. I'm an optimist.
Mainly, I have the feeling that it was the same last year... And it seems strange to me that the 64GB variant should cost 22, when TM will have it unsubsidized for 22.300... This does not fit the pricing policy of the Apple Store at all...
Does anyone know if they will be blocked when I buy it on T-mobile, so if my SIM card from Vodafone will go there.. Thanks
Certainly not in the Czech Republic.
The Czech Republic does not have an iPhone blocked by operators, so it will work everywhere and with all SIM cards.
2000 more in the apple store??? It doesn't suit me somehow... 4s was cheaper than the operator...
I was wondering too, but it's spelled wrong. It will be cheaper than the carrier, just about 2000 more expensive than the 4S when it went on sale. See the last paragraph of the article.
well, they should write it to the counselors..:-)))
I don't want to spoil anyone's joy, but the Euro has been strengthening against the USD since the end of July. At the same time, the Czech koruna also strengthened sharply against the USD (by 1,50 CZK for 1 USD) and roughly the same against the Euro. I would not expect any significant changes in the set prices of the iPhone 5. It will simply be necessary to reach deeper into your pocket when purchasing.
But that doesn't explain why it would cost 500-1000 CZK more at operators and 2000 CZK at the Apple Store... After all, the operators also have to react to the strengthening of the currency ;-)
These are outrageous prices, it's actually more worthwhile for me to have it brought from the USA blocked and for 8 and with one unnamed operator to unblock it here in CR, it will cost 3500 kc. like this, it will cost me 11500 kc, it will be without JB, so I can easily update it via iTunes, I don't want to talk about it, I will find out something about it if it is true, it would be great, at least my acquaintances told me that this is how it works, the official unlocking costs 3500. kc
Oh god, how many times does one have to repeat that... Those US prices are SUBSIDIZED. That is that you can bring it for that money, but for two years you will pay 1600 per month in the USA for a flat rate. Otherwise, the cheapest iPhone 5 16GB in the USA costs $650 (approx. CZK 13.000) plus local VAT, i.e. at least CZK 14.300... If it's worth importing it anyway, why not ;-)
With which operator can this service be used?
Thanks for the info
David
A crisis is not a crisis, that price doesn't even match the used SW and certainly not the HW. Desperation..
Let's say I understand your point, but to bet on if it's expensive? Your position is clear. But then there will also be enough people who will buy it even at this price. No fair or unfair price applies here. Either it will sell more than well for this money and it will de facto defend that price, or it will be a flop and they will have to do something about it. That's the only justice, let's say. And so it is with everything that someone wants money for.
Be careful with purchases abroad. Especially from overseas! iPhone 5 are two GSM versions! It's true, we don't have LTE :-) but the US version supposedly doesn't support European LTE frequencies (just like the iPad 3 gen.), so if you're in Germany, or sometime in the Czech Republic sometime in the year you like to hunt for a test LTE network, you won't be able to use the US iPhone . Not to mention the one-year warranty and the need to unlock…
in about a month from the start of sales, the "worldwide version", unblocked, will be released in America as well, and you can easily use it everywhere, even here in the Czech Republic, it's like a normal one bought here;-)
I know, but the strap is bothering someone you know to smuggle it in, and be careful, there will be an unlock version soon, but they don't have it everywhere in apple stores, an acquaintance of mine was flying around the stores like a madman last year, and then I bought it here anyway...at Vodafone
LTE in the Czech Republic in a year? :D
Don't be laughed at. It won't be in a year. And the next iPhone will be released anyway, so I'll probably buy a newer one right away...
How do you see a normal Friday morning sale? If I normally come in for an iPhone, will they have it for me?
Given that they allegedly sold (pre-ordered) approximately 1 units on the 2st day, which is more than what was produced, I wouldn't hold out much hope. If I were you, I'll just order it and it will come when it arrives.
certainly not. In Dresden, the manager of the apple store told us that there is enough for everyone and it has also grown....don't expect it to get on you. I have news that there will be approx. 2000 phones for the Czech Republic :)
Vodafone iPhone 5 15GB? WTF? :D
crazy expensive
The error iPhone 4 was 8GB not 16GB when the 4S was released so this may not mean any increase.
Hmm, true…
I want to ask. Is the monthly payment still valid with Vodafone? Because I can only see some stupid tariffs as a subsidy option on the Vodafone e-shop... I currently use a monthly payment of approx. 550,- per month. So is it certain that I will buy a very new iPhone 16gb for the 14? Thank you :)
Do I buy 5 at midnight at Vodafone for full price or just with a package deal?
Fantomas: I would also like to know if I will be able to buy the 5 at midnight with my payment of 400 CZK/month. Waiting for response
Do you think that when I normally get up on Friday morning, have breakfast and go to Apple at 9 o'clock in the morning, will I still get the iPhone 5?
Why buy it same as 4S :)
Do you think that when I normally get up on Friday morning, have breakfast and go to Apple at 9 o'clock in the morning, will I still get the iPhone 5?
So I compared the prices of the cheapest version of the iPhone 5 – 16GB. With comparable tariffs and a contract for 24 months USA - AT&T - tariff 85 USD price 199,-USD, T-Mobile DE - tariff 53,95 € the price is 129,90 € ( https://www.t-mobile.de/ shop/wk_/0,11340,1426-_,00.html?process=CNC ) and Czech T-Mobile with a tariff of 1200,- the price is 12199,- CZK!!! This is 4 times more expensive than in Germany!!! Can someone explain this to me?
I don't know, I have an iPhone 4S, but it's "new" haha, the iPhone 5 somehow didn't convince me of the difference from the XNUMX!
Even if I had to wait in line. After uploading the new is6, it is exactly the same, the difference is so minimal that Apple did not convince me this time.
Yooooooooo 3G vs. 4G was a huge difference, but what they showed this time!!!
That no.sry….
Well, on the contrary, it would like the euro to *weaken*...
That wouldn't help, it would still be just a few ducks. I'd rather buy in time in Germany. The prices there are half like other things. But I'll probably wait for the 6, the five didn't convince me. It's the same as the 4S.
I'm an apple tree, but I'm not a sheep :)
