The editing part has a simple impression (similar to iMovie), but you will find all the functions that can be expected from a simple editor. For undemanding videos (most likely screencasts) it will certainly be sufficient. The advantage is the possibility of inserting multiple video and audio tracks, transitions between individual videos, effects and also subtitles. You can export to various formats, directly to YouTube, Screencast or send directly to iTunes.
If you want a screen recording software that combines recording with editing, Camtasia Studio is really a very comprehensive tool with a lot of features that are fully sufficient for normal screencasts. However, what can deter you is the price, which is €79,99. That's why I recommend trying a full-fledged 30-day trial first and making a decision based on that.

it always fascinates me why someone carries wood to the forest. it's recording the screen in quicktime, so is it worth paying €79 for something like that? I don't know that Quick Time supports the editing of recorded material, so it might be worth paying almost 80 euros for this application. Of course, it is individual and someone prefers a program in which everything is together. However, for this type of application, it is appropriate to measure twice and cut once, because I am not entirely convinced that this price is not overestimated. Otherwise, as for screenshots, they are handled well in OSX, but for more complex work, it is better to use software such as Little Snapper, which can also do simple editing and the price is also not insurmountable.
