Developer studio Tap Tap Tap has announced a major update to the popular photography app Camera+. It will bring a new flatter design adapted to the style of iOS 8, as well as a number of completely new functions for better control over the shape of the resulting image.

Camera+ version 6 will be able to boast a new design of the user interface, which is now more contrasting and clear than the previous plastic interface. However, the controls have largely remained in their original places, so the transition to the new version should not be too noticeable for the user.

The more significant change is a number of new features that focus most of all on manual image review. In the six-digit Camera+, we can find a new control wheel for self-control of the exposure time, as well as a fully manual mode, in which the same control element is also available for ISO control. The automatic mode, in which we can set the EV compensation, also got quick exposure adjustment options.

If you need to use manual focus in some situation, Camera+ 6 will enable it with a control wheel similar to the aforementioned exposure. Tap Tap Tap also added a separate macro mode for taking photos of close objects.

Photographers will also be able to better adjust the white balance thanks to several built-in presets. When you find the right value, you can also "lock" it, much like focus or exposure, and use it for all your next shots in that scene.

Probably the most interesting initiative in the upcoming update is the extension for the built-in Photos application, thanks to which editing photos will be much easier and clearer. When viewing photos, just click the "Open in..." button and select the Camera+ application. The controls of the mentioned application will then appear directly within the built-in photo gallery, and after the editing is complete, the enhanced photo will appear back in its place. This way, there will be no unpleasant duplication between Camera+ and phone photos.

All of these features will be available "coming soon" as part of a free update. We will probably have to wait for the iOS 8 operating system.
