The Apple Vision Pro is expensive, and it's not just us with our salaries who seem to be. Social media is full of mildly angry US residents complaining about its purchase price. But everything has a reason.

When Apple introduced the first generation of iPhones, it was not an expensive smartphone. Even with us you could have it "for a few thousand" and it was not an exception that even with reasonable employment with the operator in question for free. The situation only started to break around the iPhone 5, when the mobile market and subsidizing products began to be taken over by operators. And then there is inflation, the global economy and many other factors that have pushed the prices of iPhones to a starting amount of CZK 23 for the basic model.

But if you don't want to pay that much, you can reach out to the competition and have a "decent" equipped smartphone for the price of CZK 8. The same goes for headsets. You don't want Vision Pro for more than 80 thousand? Buy Meta Quest 3 for 15k. But not all customers want some compromises. This is also why iPhones are the best-selling smartphones in the world.

All in one

The Apple Vision Pro may not be the best-selling headset in the world right away. Regardless of its price, it managed to create a proper hype, which was probably the point here. Even the iPhone was not immediately available worldwide, it took even the Apple Watch to reach us. Apple's pilot "space computer" is currently only intended for US residents, and although its expansion is being considered, we don't have anything official here yet.

We can't expect the Vision Pro to ever get cheaper. But if we could say how much we are willing to pay for it, how much would it be? Of course, this amount can be different for everyone, but the most talked about range is between 1 and 000 dollars, i.e. approx. 1 to 500 CZK without tax. So this price more or less corresponds to what new iPhones cost. So when we see a basic model, it is quite possible that its price will be around 23 CZK. But we usually buy MacBook Pros at this price.

It won't be this year and probably not even in a year, but in three we could be more reasonable, not only in terms of hardware development but also the VisionOS system, which can make sense to think about this product even for those who are rejecting it now. Perhaps they will replace their entire TV with other devices, such as iPads, Apple TV, and find that it is actually a more advantageous purchase when they get everything in one than using a specific product for each activity.
