The discussion platform Reddit has been my favorite source of useful information, tips and news not only about Apple products for some time. When I am in one of the threads noticed a notification about a new Apple Watch app called Battery Grapher, I pointed out. I like tables, graphs, analyzes and reports of all kinds. I hesitated for a while whether to invest in a paid application, but in the end I decided to give Battery Grapher a try. Was the investment worth the price of an average gas station coffee?

The Battery Grapher app for Apple Watch comes from a Hong Kong developer Nicholas Bird, which already has a free game called Word Swipe on the App Store for Apple Watch. At first glance, Battery Grapher caught my attention with its interface, but its functionality is also definitely worth it. One huge advantage is the ability to add complications to selected Apple Watch watch faces and customize them. In a pleasant-looking colorful complication, you can display the amount of time that the battery of your Apple Watch has left until it is completely discharged. In the application, you can also set when you want to be notified by your watch that it needs to be connected to the charger. With notifications, you can set whether you want to be notified of a certain percentage or the time remaining until your watch's battery is completely discharged.

After you add the Battery Grapher complication to your Apple Watch watch face and click on it, you'll see a clear graph showing how your watch's battery is draining, along with when you should connect your Apple Watch to a charger. The accuracy of the data in this graph will gradually increase with the length of time you use the app and as Battery Grapher learns about your habits. You don't have to worry about Battery Grapher adversely affecting the battery consumption of your Apple Watch - according to the developer, the application runs a background task once every hour, so the impact on the battery is really minimal. Battery Grapher does not require an internet connection to function.

But according to its creator, the development of the application does not end with complications and graphs - according to Nicholas Bird, he plans to enrich his work with other functions in the foreseeable future, such as a real-time consumption graph, a page with more detailed information about the battery, such as the percentage of discharge per hour or time elapsed since last charge.

I'm looking forward to the new functions of the Battery Grapher application, but I wouldn't regret the investment (after all, it's a negligible amount) even if it were just a graph and complications. The app works great on my Apple Watch Series 4 with watchOS 6.1.2, the graph and complication graphics look really good. However, some users might find it a disadvantage that if you want to use the app - i.e. access the battery consumption graph - you have to add the relevant complication to the watch face.
