Michal Ždanský It hasn't been that long since we published to you interview with Lukáš Petřík, the author of several successful applications in the App Store. His second venture was Bankomaty ČR, an application for finding ATMs throughout the Czech Republic. So let's take a closer look at this feat.
The Bankomata ČR application is not the first of its kind, however, the author learned from the shortcomings of the competitor that appeared first in the App Store and brought it into a very simple, yet very functional form. The application itself will probably remind you of native Maps at first glance. After all, this is the main thing we need when looking for ATMs. Instead of the search bar at the top, however, we find five icons of banks in the Czech Republic, namely Česká spořitelna, Komerční banka, ČSOB, GE Moneybank and Raiffeisenbank. We can mark or unmark them as needed, depending on which ATM we are looking for.
Our location is found automatically (or just tap on the icon at the very bottom left), so then you just need to tap on the closest button or the magnifying glass. "Nearest" marks us with a bank icon, the nearest machine around where we are, we also learn our distance from it and its exact address. Other ATMs of the selected bank (or several banks) will also be marked on the map. If we choose the magnifying glass, all the ATMs located in the selected area will be displayed.
If you don't like the basic map, you can also choose between hybrid or satellite, just like with native Google maps. A big advantage of the application is the fact that the entire database is loaded online. This means in practice that bank lists can be updated every day without the need for an update in the App Store. So, if a bank near you is missing from the application, just contact the author via email, who can then add it to the database, as indicated in the description of the application on the App Store. In time, a form may be created where you can enter ATM addresses yourself.
What I would criticize the application for is the absence of other banking institutions apart from the mentioned "five" and a slightly less successful icon, which does not correspond very well with the nice design of the rest of the program.
Bankomaty ČR is a very useful application, moreover it is nicely designed, simple and intuitive. In time, hopefully more banks will be added and thus cover the majority of ATMs in our homeland. You can currently find it in the Appstore for a popular €0,79.

Is the low signal level in the picture because you are in a building or does the iPhone really not have the signal? I thought this only applies to US carriers?
