The first thing that strikes you when you read the title Banana Kong comes to mind, is a connection with the well-known game classic Donkey Kong from Nintendo. But this is where the connection ends. Banana Kong is just another in the endless runners series. So he can establish himself in the kingdom, where they currently rule Temple Run 2, JetPack Joyride a Subway Surfers?

In the role of a cute brown gorilla, you will run across the jungle. Our main character has eaten a large amount of bananas and a pile of discarded peels starts to fall on him like an avalanche. As he runs away from banana peels, he must face the pitfalls of the jungle. In this case, these are obstacles that the game dynamically prepares - wooden barrels, water, falling platforms, vines, crocodiles, piranhas, rocks and others. To avoid the traps, simply tap the screen and the gorilla will jump. If you want to stay in the air a little longer, just hold your finger on the screen and the gorilla will make a parachute out of a large leaf and it will fall more slowly. You can jump down from higher platforms by flicking your finger downwards.

Along the way you collect bananas that have two functions. They fill a boost that allows you to break through all obstacles, and also add to the total number of bananas collected. Bananas can then be used to buy upgrades in the menu. You can buy one-time upgrades as well as upgrade bonuses that appear along the way for the best score. Bonuses are in the form of animals. You can fly with a toucan, a boar will take you over obstacles, and a giraffe will save you from falling out of trees. The game has three layers. The first is the jungle in which you run from the start. Then there are the treetops and the underground. You can only get to them with a boost. You can go underground with a boost to a stone with an arrow, and you can get to the trees with a boost from a creeper.

Similar to the aforementioned Temple Run 2, Banana Kong uses a mission system. Collect 100 bananas, jump 5x on flowers, etc. You then get bananas for completed missions. Banana Kong, like most endless runners, nicely combines missions, bonuses and beating friends. The graphics side of the game is also very nice, including the music and sound effects. The game supports Game Center, so you can compare scores with friends and get achievements. You'll even see name "tags" as you beat your friends' scores as you play. All this is packaged in an iOS universal game without iCloud synchronization for a reasonable 0,89 euros. Banana Kong is sure to keep you entertained for a while, the question is for how long.
