Who hasn't had a broken home button like they don't have an iPhone. Unfortunately, this is a sad statistic for Apple phones. The Home button is one of the most faulty parts of the iPhone, and also one of the most stressed. For breakdowns the iPhone 4 in particular suffered greatly, with the repair being the most demanding of all the phones.

To repair a single button, it is necessary to disassemble almost the entire iPhone, since the component is accessed from the back. Replacing it at home is therefore not highly recommended, and the service in this case will cost you around CZK 1000. However, sometimes there is no time for iPhone repairs and one has to struggle for some time with an almost non-functional button. Fortunately, iOS includes a feature that replaces the Home button and other hardware buttons.

Open Settings > General > Accessibility and turn on Assistive Touch. A semi-transparent icon will appear on the screen that can be moved at will, similar to the "chat heads" in the Facebook app. Clicking on it opens a menu where you can, for example, activate Siri or simulate pressing the Home button. In the device menu, it is then possible, for example, to increase/decrease the volume, turn off the sound or rotate the screen.

This feature is not one of the new features in iOS 7, in fact it has been present in the system since version 4, as if Apple expected the failure rate of the iPhone 4. In any case, thanks to Assistive Touch, you can use the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch without a functional button at least until the device is repaired, and at least close applications or access the multitasking bar.
