Last year we wrote about the fact that Apple established another official YouTube channel, which is focused primarily on product support. It differs from the main channel mainly in that it contains only helpful videos that can be useful if you do not know how to use your Apple product. There are currently several listings here, including iPhone tutorials, Apple Pay, some tips and tricks, photo tutorials, and more. There have also been three new videos since the weekend regarding the HomePod speaker, which has been on sale since last Friday.

All three new videos are about a minute long and each one deals with something different. The first video shows you how to play music on HomePod using Siri and Apple Music. What commands you can use and what Siri can do. In the ideal case, you will be able to control everything you need with just your voice, even when it comes to music selection, playback volume, etc.

The second video focuses on handling the touch control panel located on top of the speaker. There are basically three buttons that work exactly the same as the control bridge on the EarPods. Here you will find buttons for volume control and a central button for scrolling individual songs or activating Siri. The keyboard shortcuts are the same as for EarPods.

The last video is intended for all users who, for some reason, are struggling with the initial settings of the speaker, or who want to personalize its settings to a certain extent. In the HomePod settings, you can change, for example, the name of the room in which the speaker is located (this is especially useful in the case of multiple speakers when you tell Siri what to play on which). An Apple account for pairing with Apple Music and Apple ID, notification functions, listening history or a filter for inappropriate content can be set here. There is also a complete reset of the device, after which the initial settings will be re-initialized.

The HomePod speaker is really simple to operate. A huge number of first impressions have appeared on the site over the weekend and people seem to be really happy with it. If they approach it as a product primarily focused on music, it can't be faulted too much. We can therefore hope that the official Czech distribution will appear as soon as possible. If you don't want to wait, the closest from the Czech Republic is to Great Britain. Or wait for the start of sales in Germany/France, which will happen during the spring.
