Although the majority of users agree that they would be fine with remote control of the sound or volume, others take this idea to a higher level. It certainly wouldn't hurt if the entire multimedia could be controlled in the same way. In this regard, the Apple Watch could act as specific function keys known from apple keyboards. In this case, in addition to sound controls, it would be possible to provide play/pause and switching.

However, it is unclear whether we will see something similar in the near future. Only recently, in June 2022, Apple presented us with the new watchOS 9 operating system, for which it did not mention any such news. It is for this reason that one can more or less count on the fact that if something like this is to come at all, it certainly won't be before a year from now.
