The Apple Watch is rightfully considered one of the best smartwatches on the market and enjoys immense popularity. They get along well with the entire apple ecosystem and can make the apple grower's daily life a lot easier. Of course, they easily deal with receiving notifications, incoming calls, they don't lack the voice assistant Siri and the possibility of installing other third-party applications. Their ability to monitor the user's health and physical activities also plays an important role.

It is the individual functions, sensors and interlinking with other Apple products that make the Apple Watch perhaps the best you can get in the field. On the other hand, we cannot say that it is a completely flawless product. When we look at it in more detail, we come across various imperfections and missing functions. Today, we will shine a light on exactly one missing function.

Apple Watch as a sound and multimedia controller

Interesting opinions have appeared among Apple users, according to which the watch could work great as a remote control. Since the Apple Watch gets along well with the rest of the Apple ecosystem, it certainly wouldn't be that difficult to add a feature that would allow us to use the product to remotely control our iPads and Macs. Although the majority of users agree that they would be fine with remote control of the sound or volume, others take this idea to a higher level. It certainly wouldn't hurt if the entire multimedia could be controlled in the same way. In this regard, the Apple Watch could act as specific function keys known from apple keyboards. In this case, in addition to sound controls, it would be possible to provide play/pause and switching.

However, it is unclear whether we will see something similar in the near future. Only recently, in June 2022, Apple presented us with the new watchOS 9 operating system, for which it did not mention any such news. It is for this reason that one can more or less count on the fact that if something like this is to come at all, it certainly won't be before a year from now. How do you feel about this potential gadget? Would you welcome such a novelty in the watchOS system and therefore start using the apple watch for volume and multimedia control, or do you think it is completely useless?
