Apple released tvOS 12.3. The update is intended for all users, specifically for Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD owners. The main novelty of the system – just like in the case of iOS 12.3 – is the redesigned Apple TV application, which is also coming to the Czech Republic.
tvOS 12.3 can be downloaded on a compatible Apple TV v Settings -> System -> updates software –> Update software. If you have set automatic updates, there is no need to worry about anything - the update will be offered to you automatically.
The domain of tvOS 12.3 is mainly the Apple TV application, which offers a comprehensive offer of movies from iTunes, including the ability to search, purchase and play them. However, many users note that the app lacks several key features and that it lacks meaning compared to iTunes Movies. However, within the Czech market, the application is considerably truncated and does not offer, for example, even support for third-party services. Its added value will only become apparent in the fall, when it will become the home of the TV+ streaming service.
This is what the Apple TV app looks like in the new tvOS 12.3:
The redesigned Apple TV app is the only new thing in tvOS 12.3. The update continues to focus on unspecified bug fixes and brings improvements to system stability and security.
Apple also released software in version 7.3 for the third generation Apple TV.
The application is nice, but some movies have bad information, for example Avengers Infinity War, CZ subtitles and dubbing. Only dubbing actually, hopefully he'll fix it. The same on iTunes via iPad, where it is correct, but the apple TV app fails. And there will definitely be more, Lord of the Ring extended version, somewhere with Czech support and somewhere without it, and now take a chance....
