Apple today released a new version of the iCloud application, which is available through the rival Windows operating system, within its own Microsoft Store. The new application serves users of the Windows platform for better access to files stored on iCloud.

Owners of computers with the Windows 10 operating system can download a new version of iCloud from the Microsoft Store starting yesterday evening, which brings support for iCloud Drive, iCloud Photos, Mail, contacts, calendar, reminders, Safari bookmarks and more. It is a much more sophisticated application than the previous version of iCloud Drive available on the Windows platform.

Through the new iCloud for Windows, users can upload photos and videos directly from the system, as well as download saved ones. They also have the ability to create shared albums, share and download documents stored on iCloud Drive, synchronize emails, contacts, calendar and many other functions that iCloud normally offers. The app is said to run on the same foundation as OneDrive for Windows.

If you have a Windows 10-compatible device, the new iCloud app is available to anyone with a valid iCloud account. Just download it for free from the Microsoft Store and have the latest Windows operating system update installed on your PC.
