Apple released the sixth developer-only beta of macOS 10.15 Catalina this evening. The update comes more than two weeks after the release of the previous beta and more than two months after WWDC, where the new system made its debut.

The update is only intended for registered developers and can be found in System preferences -> Software update, but only if you have the appropriate utility installed on your Mac. Otherwise, everything you need can be downloaded in Apple Developer Center.

In the following days (probably already tomorrow), the company should also release the fifth public beta for testers who have registered for the relevant program on the website beta.apple.com.

In addition to bug fixes, the macOS 10.15 sixth beta brings new icons for lights, outlets, fans, and other smart accessories that can be added in the Home app. Users can thus set the display of the icon for a specific device according to their preferences, or so that it corresponds more closely to reality. We can also expect the same icon design in iOS 13 and iPadOS – Apple will probably add them to the system with the next beta version.
