iOS 15.2 is finally available to the public after a long wait. Apple has just released a new version of the current operating system for iPhones, which brings quite a lot of interesting news. So if you own a compatible device (iPhone 6S/SE 1 and later), you can download the update now. Simply go to Settings > General > Software Update. But let's take a look at all the news that iOS 15.2 brings.

iOS 15.2 brings App Privacy Reporting, the Digital Legacy Program, and more features and bug fixes to your iPhone.

Privacy

  • In the App Privacy report, available in Settings, you'll find information about how often apps have accessed your location, photos, camera, microphone, contacts, and other resources over the past seven days, as well as their network activity

Apple ID

  • The digital estate feature allows you to designate selected people as your estate contacts, giving them access to your iCloud account and personal information in the event of your death

Camera

  • On iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max, a macro photography control can be activated in Settings, which switches to an ultra-wide-angle lens when taking photos and videos in macro mode

TV application

  • In the Store panel, you can browse, buy and rent movies, all in one place

C

  • Enhanced city plans are available in the Maps app for supported cities, with detailed renderings of details such as turn lanes, medians, bike lanes, and pedestrian crossings

This release also includes the following improvements for your iPhone:

  • iCloud+ subscribers can create random, unique email addresses in Mail using the Hide My Email feature
  • The Find It function can detect the location of the iPhone even five hours after switching to standby mode
  • In the Stocks app, you can view the currency of the stock symbol, and you can see the stock's year-to-date performance when viewing charts
  • You can now delete and rename tags in the Reminders and Notes apps

This release also brings the following bug fixes for iPhone:

  • With VoiceOver running and iPhone locked, Siri could become unresponsive
  • ProRAW photos could appear overexposed when viewed in third-party photo editing applications
  • HomeKit scenes containing a garage door may not work in CarPlay when the iPhone is locked
  • CarPlay may not have updated information about currently playing media in some apps
  • Video streaming apps on 13-series iPhones were not loading content in some cases
  • Microsoft Exchange users may have had calendar events appear under incorrect dates
