Apple continues to focus on the music environment, as evidenced by a new iOS application called Music Memos and a significant update to the mobile version of GarageBand.
Music Memos they work on the principle of recording high-quality uncompressed audio content on the iPhone and iPad. There is also subsequent naming, division and evaluation, according to which it is possible to search in the library where all musical concepts are stored. The application also has a rhythm and chord analysis function for both acoustic guitar and piano. All this can be supplemented by users by adding drums and bass elements, which will create an act with the touch of a real song from the given concept.
Additionally, Music Memos supports basic notation of chords played, and everything is connected to GarageBand and Logic Pro X, where musicians can edit their creations instantly.
“Musicians from all over the world, whether they are great artists or enthusiastic and beginning students, use our equipment to create great music. Music Memos is an innovative app that will help them quickly capture their ideas on their iPhone or iPad, anytime, anywhere," explained the purpose of the new app, which is free to download, Apple's vice president of marketing Phil Schiller.
Musicians will also be very pleased with the GarageBand update for iOS, which now has the option of adding a virtual studio drummer to a song, creating music remixes with Live Loops, bringing over 1000 new sounds and loops, and new amplifiers are available for bass players.
Plus, iPhone 6s and 6s Plus owners can take full advantage of 3D Touch in GarageBand, which deepens the ability to create new musical things. Among other things, iPad Pro support was added, with which the aforementioned Logic Pro X application also came.
So this is a "killer app" for me as a guitarist. An absolutely perfect application for recording musical ideas. Thanks Apple
Gosh... Very nice application, I immediately pulled out the guitar and it's great in combination with the bug and the drums, it gives the recordings a new dimension - I really like how it adapts and that it shows the notation. I guess I'll have to look for an iPhone microphone now ;)
Thanks Apple ;)
Hey guys, can someone please tell me how to connect an ios device to a guitar? what do I need for that? or keys please mail me.. thanks for any advice… maerjoan@gmail.com
You need something like that, there are many manufacturers and there will be cheaper pieces at the music store. If you have an acoustic guitar, the initial attempts can be recorded just through the microphone of the phone - you just turn on the application and record.

electric guitar + irig hd (or something similar, the disadvantage of the irig hd is that it does not have a line out, so the only way to output sound is through the headphone output on the ipad) + some kind of ipad + bias amp application (paid application, on the black heel it was in big discount, you can download and layer custom amps in it for free directly in the application) + bias fx application (custom amp from bias can be opened in bias fx and put effects before and after it (disadvantage - application and effects must be purchased, but again, various presets can be downloaded for free - effect combinations) + garageband (connected via interapp audio) + connected via cable via headphone output to Marshall Kilburn (mobile speaker, battery life of 20 hours) = luxurious set-up at home and on the road :- ). Connection via bluetooth between ipad and marshall is not possible, and in other applications where it is enabled (drumjam) it lags (not much, but it is recognizable). There is, however, the aptx compression standard, which some devices (ipad no, kilburn no) support, and it enables sound accuracy via bluetooth in high quality, and if the device is capable of aptx low latency, even with a reduced lag (30ms). That could be useful, but a cable is a cable. If someone would like to try it, you can purchase a bluetooth low latency transmitter and receiver with a 6-hour battery life, which can be connected to the iPad via the headphone output and to the portable speakers via the minijack input. I came to the opinion that it is not worth it, and I play through the twisted cable attached to the Kilburn. Hi! May everything go well for you in life.
