Consider the situation where you want to buy a new smartphone and you don't really care what brand it will be. You only have certain requirements for parameters and possibly price. So you go to the company's online store, where you start looking for the ideal model for you. With Apple you have everything on a golden platter, with Samsung you will come across and grope a lot which model is better equipped than the other.

When you look at Apple's phone lineup, it's fairly straightforward. It currently starts with the iPhone 11, continues through the iPhone 12 and the new iPhone SE 3rd generation to the top in the form of the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro. The SE model is then wedged between the 12 and 13 series because the company ranks the devices according to performance, and the 3rd generation SE has the same A15 Bionic chip that beats in the "thirteens" introduced last fall. When you then click on the individual models, i.e. iPhone 12, 13 or 13 Pro, you will learn some specifications and you are also directed to purchase, where you can choose a larger or smaller model (mini, Max). And that's really all. It is clear and concise.

Apple has an advantage here in that it does not have a comprehensive portfolio. After all, every year it usually introduces only one series of its iPhones, when it provides them in several variants - except for the basic one and in the mini, Pro and Pro Max versions. This year, of course, it will be a little different, because here we have the iPhone SE 3rd generation, and there is still speculation about whether the iPhone 14 will still have a mini version, or whether Apple will abandon it. In every respect, such a small portfolio is an advantage for the customer. He has nowhere to get lost here and clearly goes after what he needs.

Samsung and its Galaxy phones

But now let's look at the offer of Samsung, i.e. Apple's biggest rival. It also offers its Online Store, where you can of course buy not only phones, but also tablets and other products such as home appliances, TV & AV, etc. And it's logical. However, if we focus exclusively on the offer of mobile phones, we will already stumble a bit here. First, it is necessary to click through to the list of rows, which is not such a problem. It is quite easy to deduce which series is the most equipped.

The Galaxy M phones start from the left (the XCover was not included in the main list), followed by the Galaxy A, Galaxy S and Galaxy Z. The latter are the company's foldable solutions, while the Galaxy S are its flagships in the field of classic smartphones. When you click on the Galaxy M series, you will clearly stand out from the markings and the price. The problem occurs with a number of Galaxy A models.

Galaxy A with and without 5G

Last week, the company introduced two new phones with the designation Galaxy A53 5G and Galaxy A33 5G. These are also marked as news here. But the first costs CZK 11, the second costs CZK 490, and the third in order is the Galaxy A8s 990G, which costs CZK 52. It is therefore as expensive as one of the new products, but has a lower markup. So is it better or worse than the newly arrived leader of the series?

And then there are the Galaxy A32 5G, A32, A22 5G and A22 models. The first is only CZK 1 cheaper than the new Galaxy A000 33G and at the same time CZK 5 more expensive than the A32 model. Since it bears the label 5G, one could judge that its added value is the support of 5th generation networks, but this is not a single change. The A32 has a 64MP camera, the A32 5G has a 48MP camera. So which one is better? The same applies to the A22 5G and A22. The price difference is CZK 600, but the model with the 5G moniker only has three cameras, the model without 5G four. So how does one choose which model to buy without much comparison?

Galaxy S21FE

The Galaxy S21 FE model makes a bit of a mess in the Galaxy S series. It is ranked between the Galaxy S22 and S21+, but it is priced lower than both mentioned models, its equipment is also very different, but it is a model introduced after the S21+ and before the S22. However, if the S21 series marks the year 2021 and the S22 the year 2022, the Galaxy S21 FE was introduced at the beginning of 2022. Therefore, if the customer does not follow the development and trend of Samsung, he has a rather difficult decision about which model to actually go for.

Samsung is the biggest smartphone seller in the world, precisely because its models are more affordable – that is, if we are talking about the basic Galaxy M and A series. and you have to go into a more complex comparison. Apple doesn't have a comprehensive range of iPhones, and that's actually a good thing.
