The system comes with support, thanks to which it will be possible to insert a driver's license or valid identity document into the native Wallet application, which will then be usable instead of a physical card. Naturally, the feature was supposed to launch first in the United States of America. Then, when the system actually came out, the novelty was missing and it was not clear when the local apple users would actually receive it.

This week, Apple finally launched this interesting feature, allowing American Apple owners to replace physical IDs with a phone, just as it is the case, for example, with payment cards or airline tickets. At the same time, however, a strange curiosity appeared. Apple is based in the US state of California, and it is often said that it has the strongest base here. But the catch is that even in California the function is not yet available.
Apple's influence in California is not unlimited
The feature has now launched in the US state of Arizona, with more states such as Colorado, Hawaii, Mississippi and Ohio expected to arrive in the near future, while an apple grower in Puerto Rico will soon enjoy it as well. The Cupertino giant has previously mentioned support for residents of Georgia, Connecticut, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Oklahoma and Utah. As you can see, there is no mention of California anywhere. At the same time, Apple is often given a role by apple growers, according to which it has a huge influence precisely in its homeland. According to this, it was possible to conclude that California will be number one in practically all functions, but this has now been refuted.
At the same time, the problem of transferring driver's licenses and state identity documents does not lie only with Apple. He, on the other hand, plays a minor role in this, as he only needs to prepare the user environment, sufficient security and he is practically done. On the other hand, the main role here is played by the states themselves, which must properly prepare for these changes and approve everything necessary. It is therefore clear that Apple's influence in the state of California is certainly not as high as many have thought for years.

Feature rollout in Europe
Subsequently, the question arises as to how the introduction of this function will fare in Europe, i.e. in our country. If Apple is already experiencing such extensive problems, with some users having to wait 6 long months for the feature, and others not even getting it yet, then it raises a lot of questions. Accordingly, only one thing can be expected - Czech apple growers will not see something similar for a very long time. The question is also whether ever. It is not unusual for Apple to allow some of its functions only in certain regions, of which the Czech Republic is of course not included.
