You've probably noticed that Apple has released new headphones from its Beats brand. Specifically, it is the Beats Studio Buds+ model, which may be more interesting to many owners of Apple products than AirPods Pro. Several factors are responsible for this. 

We definitely don't want to trivialize the benefit of AirPods. With them, Apple practically founded the segment of TWS headphones and defended with them, for example, the removal of the 3,5 mm jack connector from its iPhones as well as the end of including wired headphones in the packaging of its phones. Their iconic appearance was then tried by many to copy more or less successfully. But today is a different time.

Apple strikes back 

Most of the world's companies are already going their own way and trying to refer to AirPods less and less. The only exception can actually be the young brand Nothing, whose headphones include a stem just like AirPods. But in order to differentiate the brand, it came up with an effective transparent design. So Apple probably figured that if others can copy it, it can copy them. Studio Beats+ has the transparent one as one of its color variants, just like Nothing.

So while it's not a completely new design, it's really liked, and with that, of course, a lot of references have been made about why AirPods are still so boring and just white. It can be seen that if you want, you can. But Beats for Apple may be just for experimentation. On the other hand, these are headphones that are fully usable with Android devices, which AirPods simply aren't, because they are shortened in their functions on the competing platform.

Beats is on the sidelines 

In the past, for example, Apple added a USB-C connector to the production of Beats. He could still have his Lightning here and it wouldn't really be a bad thing if it was his company. So here he succumbed to the global trend, but with AirPods, he clings to this archaic connector tooth and nail. Some steps we just don't understand and only Apple knows why they do it.

If Apple renamed the entire Beats brand to its own name, we would have a great portfolio of music accessories that could be part of the AirPods card and in its online store and could promote it more. However, it looks like Beats is just a side track, and when they have it, they release some new product here and there. But probably even the company did not expect that in a direct comparison, this competition from its own stable could actually be more interesting, and not only visually.

The price also plays a big role here. Saving CZK 2 for not having detection of headphones in your ears, wireless charging and, for many, not very pleasant surround sound with head tracking, may seem like a better alternative. Especially nowadays. Beats Studio Buds+ cost 500 CZK, while 4nd generation AirPods Pro cost 790 CZK. For how big a company Apple is with so many options, it's still very small in terms of product (see Homepody). But it is true that probably big things await us now and the company's entry into a new segment that can change a lot (again).
