August 6. Apple he announced, that it will begin a USB charger exchange program in response to security issues with some non-genuine or counterfeit USB adapters for iOS devices. The program will allow users to buy an Apple-branded charger for just $10 if they trade in one of their counterfeit parts "for consideration." The program was initially introduced only in the US and China, but six days later Apple extended it to customers in Canada, Australia, France, Germany and Great Britain.
On August 17, the program grew even more and can be called global. Customers in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Holland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan and in New Zealand.
