In China last week, they finally got the iPhone 5, which Apple started selling in the world's most populous country on Friday, December 14. Now the Californian company has announced that it has sold over two million units of its latest phone in the first three days.

"The response of Chinese customers to the iPhone 5 was incredible and set a new record for first weekend sales in China," Apple CEO Tim Cook announced in a press release. "China is a very important market for us, and customers here couldn't wait to get their hands on Apple products."

By the end of the year, the iPhone 5 should appear in more than 100 countries, which would mean the fastest spread of any iPhone ever. Next to China, therefore, the iPhone 5 in December discovered, or will discover also in more than 50 other countries. For the sake of comparison, we remind you that in September during the first weekend sold five million iPhones 5.

Entering the Chinese market with its popular device is quite a major step for Apple. It is still losing on the giant eastern market, however, with the aforementioned sales figures, it has clearly shown that it has great potential here. It has been openly discussed that Apple is losing out significantly to Android in China, with one analyst firm claiming that Android has as much as 90% of the market. The agreement with China Mobile, which is the largest mobile operator in the world with more than 700 million customers, may also be decisive for Apple.

Last week, Apple also started selling the iPad mini in China, so both customers and the company can be happy. In the coming months, her unequivocal goal will be to push as many products with the bitten apple logo as possible onto the hungry Chinese market, or rather into the hands of customers.
