Yesterday we brought you information about an open letter behind the investment company Janna Partners, in which the authors asked Apple to increase its efforts in the fight against the addiction of children and adolescents to mobile phones and tablets. Among other things, the letter stated that Apple should set aside a special team that will focus on developing new tools for parents who will have better control over what their child does with their iPhone or iPad. An official response from Apple appeared a day after publication.

You can read more about the letter in the article linked above. In view of the letter, it must be noted that this is not some small shareholder whose opinion Apple may not take into account. Janna Partners holds approximately two billion dollars worth of Apple shares. Maybe that's why Apple responded so quickly to the letter. The answer appeared on the website the very second day after publication.

Apple claims that it is already possible to block and control virtually any content that children encounter on their iPhones and iPads. Even so, the company tries to offer parents the best possible tools to effectively control their children. Development of such tools is ongoing, but users can expect some new features and tools to appear in the future. Apple certainly does not take this topic lightly and protecting children is a big commitment for them. It is not yet clear what specific tools Apple is preparing. If something is really coming and it's in the later stages of development, we might hear about it for the first time at this year's WWDC conference, which takes place regularly every June.
